My boys and I just love the imagination and intrigue of Chris Van Allsburg's books.  He has written many picture books, a few of which have even been made into movies.

We find his stories and ideas captivating and hope you will too.

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Growing pains aired in 1985 which put me around age 8 and it stayed on the air until I was 15 or so; I'm pretty sure most people in my age group watched mostly for Kirk Cameron and all his antics.  I still have a soft spot for family sit-coms!  The Facts of Life aired when I was just 2  and stayed on the air until I was 11 so I'm sure the episodes I remember so fondly were either some of the later ones and then reruns shown later on when I was old enough to watch from the beginning. Weigh in Wednesday: The Month We Were Fully At Home

 I can't believe it's already time for another weigh-in Wednesday! I feel like I just wrote up my summary from last month.  I weighed in at 163.5 (or 6?-- I don't really remember the number after the decimal point and I'm too lazy to find my phone and look it up right now) last Thursday (when I wrote this post). This means that in the last month I was able to shed 2 lbs.  I'm pretty happy with that. I mean I always want to see those numbers go down but at the same time I really do love to eat and have not managed to give up my sweets entirely.   I do think I ate much better this month than last and a large part of that is that we've been eating at home.  I haven't really remembered to snap many photos of my dinner but I have taken quite a few photos of my breakfasts, lunches, and snacks.  salad with chicken and peaches and croutons I've moved my fruit/yogurt/granola bowl to the afternoons for the most part I made a mini Caesar salad over my regular wee...

Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. How I Did with my Winter Bucket List

I'm joining in with my fellow Bucket List Bloggers this weekend to share how we did on our winter bucket lists before posting our spring bucket lists on Monday. I kept our winter bucket list pretty short and sweet and I'm happy that I was able to get nearly everything knocked off of it.  My Winter Bucket List: 1.Have a great time in Hawaii --Check!  2. Celebrate Ian's college graduation -- Check!  I asked him what he wanted to do and he answered "have dinner out in Hawaii" so we did do that. But he's a pretty low-key guy and didn't really want much fanfare. We did end up getting him a cake and I made him a card and we gave him a gift in January. 3. Celebrate Alec's birthday -- Check! 4. Get out on a few hikes/snowshoe walks -- Check! Pulaski park: Moore State park: 5. Try a new soup recipe -- Check! Spring Bucket List

Since it's officially spring it's time for me to share my spring bucket list with the other quarterly bucket list bloggers! 1. Enjoy a weekend with the girls in Louisville, KY (and check another state off my list!) 2. Celebrate Ian's 21st birthday!  3. Take a couple field trips with Evan 4. Enjoy a week in Acadia with Alec and my husband  5. Go to the farmer's market 6. Go hiking 7. Try some new salad recipes 8. Start eating breakfast &/or lunch outside when it warms up   9. Finish scrapbooking our Hawaii trip 10. Celebrate several graduations with extended family  11. Move Alec home from college 12. Put out the hummingbird feeder again.  13. See another live show 14. Celebrate mother's day with my mom and mother in law 15. Break out my real camera at least once a week for some photography fun. 16.
