Slices of Life

With school officially starting this month my boys have been reading more and more.  Evan really has found that he just love graphic novels and he's been willing to branch out and try a few different ones.  So far he's enjoying them all!  Alec has been re-reading lots of his favorite book series and is just devouring books.  Ian is still rather reluctant to read but at least he's willing to humor me and read each day. 1.  Ms. Marvel -- Evan is trying to figure out what order to read this graphic novel series in and figured this must have been book 1.  He read it in just a few days so he must have really enjoyed it. 2.  Tales of the Great Beasts -- Alec was so excited to find this super edition of one of his favorite series- the Sprit Animals.  This book look at the history of 4 of the great beasts and how they came to be. 3. Alec has been having a great time re-reading several of his favorite books and series these past couple of months.  He has started keeping a running list of what books come next in each series so he knows which ones to look for on each trip to the library.  Evan asked to go to Barnes and Noble for his birthday and picked out a few graphic novels-- reading all three of them while we were on vacation! 1.  Nevermoor; The Trials of Morrigan Crow -- Morrigan is supposed to die at midnight on her eleventh birthday but is whisked away at the last minute to Nevermoor where Morrigan has to pass a series of tests or face returning home and dying. 2.  Warriors, The New Prophesy book 2:Moonrise- - in the second book of the second series, the cats are travelling home after their journey to save the clans where they meet a band of wild cats with their own prophesy to fill. 3.  Wings of Fire Book 12 -- Cricket has never fit in with the other HiveWings and now she's in hiding f...

I have always known that Alec loves to read and I know that my boy can read quite quickly; devouring books in record time but he blew me away by all the books he managed to read this month!  He re-discovered many of his old favorite series and found that new books had been released so he was just thrilled to read and read and read. 1. With all this schoolwork on hold for the summer Alec has been having the best time reading up a storm!  He read at least a dozen books this month an already has a bunch more on hold at our library for next month. 1.  Brotherband book 5: Scorpion Mountain -- The brotherband must come together to protect the princess' life. 2.  Brotherband book 6: The Ghostfaces- - The brotherband is thrown off course and land on what appears to be a deserted island, not on any map they possess... but they feel like they're being watched. 3.  Keeper of the Lost Cities book 5: Lodestar -- Sohpie is back in the Lost Cities but she no longer knows who to trust 4.  Seven Wonders Book #4: The Curse of the King -- Alec has been working his way back through this series.  In this book Jack and his friends face the long- lost statue of Zeus. 5.- 7.  Shadowspell Academy books 1 , 2 , & 3 -- Alec discovered this book series free through Kindle Unlimited and read all three bo...
