Monthly Menu #5

Image
We did pretty good with our monthly menu; though we did get take out & eat out a few too many times for my liking.  I mean I love take out and eating out but I am trying so darn hard to drop a few more pounds and stick to my Weight Watcher's plans and it's so much harder to do that when faced with so many yummy choices that I don't have to make!    But I can't complain; we tried lots of yummy new recipes and found a few new favorites to pull into our monthly rotation.   1.  Date night at Willimantic Brewing Company while Alec was at a party and the other two boys got take out pizza. 2.  Grilled chicken with weigh watcher's pasta salad and salad. 3. Egg roll in a bowl with rice. 4.  Take out from the Pub99 after track meet. 5. Spaghetti and meatballs with bread and salad. (zoodles for me) 6. Tacos/ taco salad / nacho night-- Basically I cook up taco meat, dice up veggies and everyone creates their own meal. 7. Ham and pea fettuccini alfredo 8. Homemade chicken

Another week of fairly challenging prompts!  Or maybe I just wasn't motivated to take photos? I find the weeks we stay home more it is harder for me to find inspiration for the prompts but I am so proud of myself for sticking with the I Spy challenge for so many weeks!  -smooth--  The water was smooth as glass while we were out hiking this week.  -window- We have been enjoying watching the birds outside our window. -pattern- I was searching for patterns in nature while out hiking and really loved the look of this dead tree.   -red-- My favorite red fruit. -your choice Linking up with: Spread the Kindness,

Friday Favorites: Last Week of May

Image
We had such a great last week of May! The weather was beautiful which meant we spent lots of time outside.  We also got to see so many of our friends and family members this week that it just flew by!  On Friday Ian, Evan and I met up with some friends of our for a hike.  We've been to Moore State park quite a few times to hike but this is the first time we made it there while all the flowers were in bloom.  It was just so pretty and we had a great time catching up with friends we hadn't seen in ages.  Saturday we learned that Alec is 2- gups away from apprentice black belt and while I'm not sure how much he cares about that I think it's a great motivator and reminder of all the time and energy he's put into karate through the years.  Another favorite on Saturday had to be catching up with friends at the roller skating rink and going out to dinner with them at Providence Coal Fired Pizza.  The kids had so much fun skating together and that pizza was amazing!!  The
