25 More of Our Favorite Family Games

Image
The boys and I have been having so much fun playing games together. We took part in a gameschooling challenge this past month.  While we have always played a lot of games as part of our homeschooling, having this challenge and putting emphasis on games has helped us to finally try out a few of those games we've had hanging around in our closet for awhile. We've found so many new and wonderful games to play together. You can see our original list of the top 25 family board games here . Now we have 25 MORE favorite family games. 1.  Stratego - We got this game from my mother in law when she was cleaning our her closet and Alec, in particular just loves it!  The object is to be the first one to capture the other person's flag. 2.   Pictureka! - We love this game where players compete to be the first one to spot the shape/ drawing.  Great for all ages! 3.  Heads Up! - We just got this for Christmas and my boys love it!  With different categ...

Educational Games and Products From Oriental Trading

Image
When I was contacted by Oriental Trading to check out some of their educational products I jumped at the chance for us to try some new games. We're in the middle of a gameschooling challenge and we LOVE to play games for school.  I was so surprised by all of the educational products that Oriental Trading had to offer!   Their educational page is so easy to navigate too.   I found so many great products. Some of their products are ones that we already have and love! Like this awesome Melissa and Dough USA Sound Puzzle that calls out the names of the states and their capitals as you put the pieces into place. Or  these Q-Ba maze blocks . Or even these   Color Counts series of books.  Oriental Trading has such a huge selection of products that we found many games that we just knew would make a wonderful addition to our homeschool. We just could not wait to try our new games! The day our order came in my boys dove into the box an...

Weekly Wrap- Up: The Week We Started our Gameschooling Challenge

We had a wonderful two week vacation from homeschooling while enjoying our holidays.  We spent a lot of time with family, played so many games, and the boys had a great time putting together all their new Lego sets. The boys and I went shopping a few times to spend some of their Christmas money.  The younger boys bought themselves some new stuffed animals and we all enjoyed a nice leisurely lunch out together.  We got a new gaming system for Christmas and the boys have been having a great time playing all their new games that they bought to go with it.  They've done a pretty great job of taking turns too! We've taken on a few new challenges for our homeschooling year.  We're participating in a Gameschooling challenge to add more games and play to our day.  We're still working on our 100 Days of Art Challenge and we're taking on a challenge to get up, get out, and get moving! Saturday:  Ian went to work with my husband; they're taking out and ...
