Crock Pot Philly Cheesesteak Grinders

Image
I needed a quick weeknight crock pot dinner for a night I wasn't going to be home. We had cheesesteak grinders on our menu and I thought it might work in the crock pot. I was afraid of overcooking the meat so I started the crock pot after lunch and cooked it on high.   Ingredients (serves 6): 1 Onion; sliced 2 green peppers, sliced 28 ounces shaved steak 1 cup beef broth 6 slices provolone cheese 6 Grinder rolls I combined the onions, green pepper, shaved steak and broth in the crock pot. And cooked on high for 4 hours. I did stir it every now and then. Just before serving I added the cheese and let it melt. Then we used tongs to serve up the cheesy, meaty, mixture onto our grinder rolls.  It worked perfectly!!  Linking up with:

Sloppy Joes Recipe

Image
We started making Sloppy Joes about a year or so ago when my husband suggested we try them.  I honestly don't remember eating them as a kid (I didn't like ground beef when I was younger; it's a texture thing).   I did remember the cafeteria serving them often at school and that it was always a hit, especially with all the boys so I figured why not give it a try!  It soon became Evan's favorite meal and we've played around with a few recipes.   We finally stumbled upon a favorite and I thought I'd share it with all of you.  Have you ever tried a Sloppy Joe?  They're fairly messy sandwiches; hence the name!  But with the right combination of flavors they can be quite tasty! Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef (I like 93% lean but any kind will do) 1 Tablespoon dried minced onion 1 tsp mined garlic 1/2 cup ketchup 1/2 cup BBQ sauce 1-2 Tablespoon brown sugar (amount varies depending on the  sweetness of the BBQ sauce) 1 Ta...

Egg Salad BLT Sandwiches

Image
We often eat BLT sandwiches for dinner and a few weeks ago, when it was on the menu and we had lots of eggs in our refrigerator I decided to try a new recipe-- egg salad BLTs. I had bought a couple dozen eggs at the grocery store (as I always do) and my mother in law brought us at least a dozen of farm fresh ones when she was chicken sitting so I decided to cook up a batch of hard boiled eggs and make some egg salad.  I also made a couple quick and easy quiches to pop in the freezer! It was my first time making egg salad BLT sandwiches but we just loved them!  And they were so easy to make. To make the egg salad BLT Sandwiches you will need: 1 lb. bacon, cooked 1 head romaine lettuce, washed and dried 3 large tomatoes, sliced Egg salad (recipe below) bread, grinder, or bulkie rolls First I cooked up the pound of bacon on our electric skillet. As the bacon was cooking I sliced up the tomatoes and washed the romaine lettuce. I threw together the egg...
