Monthly Musings: Back to school Edition 2023

 I always struggle so much with these back to school questions since we aren't a typical schooling family.  But I did my best to answer each question as fully as I could!   If you aren't a regular follower to my blog I homeschooled my boys from the time they were in elementary school-- my oldest graduated from our homeschool to attend college a couple of years ago around the time my middle son decided he'd be better off at a local technical high school studying culinary arts.  I still homeschool my youngest who is entering his second year of high school.   1. Where do you typically shop for back to school? Any tips?  Alec's uniforms are bought through 2 different uniform companies; his academic uniforms consist of polo shirts and gym clothes with the school logo on them and chino pants we usually find on Amazon (he's an unusually tall boy and his size can be hard to find).  His culinary uniforms are ordered through a restaurant supply company the school has a contra

What's Up Wednesday: August 2023

It's the last Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for What's Up Wednesday with Sheaffer and Shay. My youngest two boys start school tomorrow (Ian started earlier this week).. and sadly it feels like our summer is over.  I know it's not officially over yet but it sure does feel like it.  What We're Eating: I have no idea... I sort of fell out of step with menu planning in late summer and have yet to do a good job of planning since.  I often don't feel like cooking what I have planned for dinner when dinner time rolls around so I've been throwing together simple/easy meals like tacos, BLT sandwiches, meatballs & sauce in the crock pot with spaghetti-- and then I end up eating just a salad.  I am so unmotivated to cook and don't know if I need to find new recipes or just force myself to comply with what we have planned??  What I'm Reminiscing About: I started a new series on the blog this past month called Throwback Tuesdays and each Tue
