We're just about finished up with our alphabet series!  I had a hard time finding a great series for the letter y but finally settled on the "A Year"  series.

My boys have enjoyed these non-fiction books and with so many subjects to choose from there is something for everyone.

Prime Purchases in August

I bought a bit less than usual from Amazon in August and was doing so well spending wise until the very end of the month when I went a little crazy buying long sleeved tops and sweaters for fall.  Sorry they're not the best pictures; I had planned an outdoor photo shoot but the weather just did not want to cooperate.



I'm mostly going to focus on the clothing since I just LOVE these tops & sweaters.

Weekly Wrap-Up: Our 2nd ER Visit in 2 Months

This short week has felt pretty long... luckily we've had beautiful weather and quite a bit of fun.  

Ian headed to work on Friday as after two whole day in a row of homeschooling I decided I needed a break! LOL.  Honestly though I haven't been sleeping well and wanted to make sure I focused all my attention on Alec and getting him successfully through his first week of school.  After dropping Alec off I did work on my blog, got the house decorated for fall, and then Evan and I worked together to clean the whole thing!  It felt so good to get those items off my to do list.  I'll have a full post up soon but here's a little look at my fall decor.

We went for a hike after lunch, checking out a new trail before picking Alec up from school.  He was all smiles talking about his day and assured me he loved his first 3 days.

Friday Favorites: The First Week of School

All in all we had a very good back to school week.  We are by no means anywhere near finding a routine or a groove and that's OK as we already know the routine is going to change many many times.  However, at the end of the week I still had three boys smiling and that's all that matters.



Ian headed off to work bright and early Friday morning with his father.  The younger boys and I went in at 8 to paint two new areas of the building. The boys and I spent 7 or so hour painting all the walls gray and any of the new trim white.  We did a pretty good job if I do say so myself but we came home feeling like we were covered in grime and paint.

After: (not a huge difference but we were painting all the walls the same gray colors that some of the walls had previously been painted and covering up any dirt/ scuff marks.




I was WIPED out afterwards so we got take out from Black Dog -- a fabulous BBQ/ Smokehouse near us. We finally got my husband to watch The Incredibles 2 with us.
