Share 4 Somethings in June 2025

Since the last Saturday of the month is tomorrow it's just about time for Share 4 Somethings with Jenn. As always we're sharing some things we loved, some things we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of. 


Some things I've loved: I LOVED our trip to Maine! Acadia is just so beautiful and we had such perfect weather too.

 





I've LOVED having my brother and his family so close this month; they moved into the campground near our house this summer and it's fun spotting them randomly on our road.

I LOVED getting to spent the afternoon in Newport with Dara (Not in Jersey blog) and her family. They are the sweetest, nicest people! 

 

I LOVED the last minute date night my husband and I planned this past weekend. We got dressed and headed to Foxwoods to try one of their steak houses. We walked around, did a little shopping, and enjoyed a delicious ice cream treat before heading home.

 







they end the meal with a complimentary cotton candy (I'm not a fan of cotton candy so I only had a small taste)

later on we got ice cream treats instead-- Salted brown butter cookie dazzler

Some things I've learned: We just learned that Alec and his roommate moved up/off the wait list and managed to get an on campus apartment for the upcoming school year. They are SO excited! 

Some things that went well: Our baking has been on point this month! I made the most delicious strawberry shortcake for father's day and Alec whipped up some pretty amazing matcha/strawberry macarons one day "just for fun."

 


Some things I let go of: I got rid of the Weight Watcher's app this month, I hadn't been using it so I figured why keep on paying for it. I hope I can keep up the healthy eating and the near constant motion I've had going!

    I would love a trip to Acadia and how exciting that your son got the apartment he wanted! Those desserts look so tasty.

      Aw, thank you! I told him I had an outfit I bought at the end of last summer that I really wanted to wear that required a nice restaurant to go to. LOL It's so comfy too. I just love it.

    Glad you enjoyed Maine so much! Jeff and I went there a few years ago and were amazed at how different and beautiful it was.

      We LOVE Acadia (and just about anywhere on the Maine coast). We try to get up there at least once each year... sometimes twice.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Summer Bucket List 2025

 With the official start of summer this past Friday, the bucket list bloggers thought today would be a good day to share our summer bucket lists.   In no particular order here are some of the things I hope to accomplish this summer:  1. Go to Glacier National Park    2. Celebrate several graduations with extended family  3. Birthday shopping/lunch with my mom 4. Spend lots of time with family and friends 5. Try a new CSA (community supported agriculture) and lots of new recipes 6. Make our own pickles, jam, and marinara sauce   7. Visit the farmer's markets 8. Eat lots of meal outside 9. Get to the beach 10. Go kayaking a time or two 11. Celebrate 4th of July with the whole family 12. See some fireworks 13. Make some homemade ice cream 14. What's Up Wednesday in June

It's the last Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for What's Up Wednesday. I can't believe our first month of summer is already ending!  What We're Eating:  lots of salads and fresh veggies... and lots of ice cream too. Life is all about balance, right?   What I'm Reminiscing About:  Nothing at the moment!  What I'm Loving:  Our "new" front walk that Ian re-did for us. Based on how well water runs off it when it rains I don't think we'll have much problems with ice this winter. I hope you had a lovely weekend. Our weather warmed up rather suddenly and we had a big high school graduation party to attend. I was so relieved they had nice weather for it. We've been having some very rainy weekends all spring. Though I know it's officially summer so maybe our forecast is finally changing?    Can you believe this is the last Tuesday of the month already? I feel like June just flew right by.
