Share 4 Somethings in June 2025
Since the last Saturday of the month is tomorrow it's just about time for Share 4 Somethings with Jenn. As always we're sharing some things we loved, some things we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of.
Some things I've loved: I LOVED our trip to Maine! Acadia is just so beautiful and we had such perfect weather too.
I've LOVED having my brother and his family so close this month; they moved into the campground near our house this summer and it's fun spotting them randomly on our road.
I LOVED getting to spent the afternoon in Newport with Dara (Not in Jersey blog) and her family. They are the sweetest, nicest people!
I LOVED the last minute date night my husband and I planned this past weekend. We got dressed and headed to Foxwoods to try one of their steak houses. We walked around, did a little shopping, and enjoyed a delicious ice cream treat before heading home.

Some things I've learned: We just learned that Alec and his roommate moved up/off the wait list and managed to get an on campus apartment for the upcoming school year. They are SO excited!
Some things that went well: Our baking has been on point this month! I made the most delicious strawberry shortcake for father's day and Alec whipped up some pretty amazing matcha/strawberry macarons one day "just for fun."
Some things I let go of: I got rid of the Weight Watcher's app this month, I hadn't been using it so I figured why keep on paying for it. I hope I can keep up the healthy eating and the near constant motion I've had going!

ReplyDeleteAw, thank you! I told him I had an outfit I bought at the end of last summer that I really wanted to wear that required a nice restaurant to go to. LOL It's so comfy too. I just love it.
DeleteGlad you enjoyed Maine so much! Jeff and I went there a few years ago and were amazed at how different and beautiful it was.

I was really surprised the first time he made some for us; I had no clue how to make them at all. I'm told the key is in waiting for them to dry out a bit before baking them?

DeleteI loved the trips we took to Maine and Acadia National Park. I'd love to go again some day. You always have delicious ice cream. I'm sure getting rid of the WW app won't hurt you at all. You're so good about what you eat and all the exercise you get! Have a wonderful weekend!

It sounds like you've had a blast! Pretty impressive that your boy made some Macaroons, I've never tried that before but they are delicious! It looks like June was great! DeleteHi Jo - I always enjoy your 4 somethings posts - and judging by all the comments, others do too! I smiled at the cotton candy pic - we call it fairyfloss in Australia and I love it. It's a very rare treat reserved for going to a fair when it's being sold from a food van. I would have finished yours off in a heartbeat!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you! We usually only find floss at fairs as well and I had never heard of a restaurant serving it before so it was a cute novelty but I have a hard time with the texture.. I like how it tastes but I hate how it feels.

DeleteYour Acadia photos are amazing! I'd love to visit there, but I don't know when that might happen. Not likely we'll be heading that direction any time soon, at least that I'm aware of. How fun that you got to meet Dara! And your date night looks lovely - cotton candy to end the meal seems pretty unusual, though I'd be sparing in how much I had as well. Hope your July is off to a great start!
