Share 4 Somethings in June 2025
Since the last Saturday of the month is tomorrow it's just about time for Share 4 Somethings with Jenn. As always we're sharing some things we loved, some things we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of.
Some things I've loved: I LOVED our trip to Maine! Acadia is just so beautiful and we had such perfect weather too.
I've LOVED having my brother and his family so close this month; they moved into the campground near our house this summer and it's fun spotting them randomly on our road.
I LOVED getting to spent the afternoon in Newport with Dara (Not in Jersey blog) and her family. They are the sweetest, nicest people!
I LOVED the last minute date night my husband and I planned this past weekend. We got dressed and headed to Foxwoods to try one of their steak houses. We walked around, did a little shopping, and enjoyed a delicious ice cream treat before heading home.

they end the meal with a complimentary cotton candy (I'm not a fan of cotton candy so I only had a small taste) |

later on we got ice cream treats instead-- Salted brown butter cookie dazzler |
Some things I've learned: We just learned that Alec and his roommate moved up/off the wait list and managed to get an on campus apartment for the upcoming school year. They are SO excited!
Some things that went well: Our baking has been on point this month! I made the most delicious strawberry shortcake for father's day and Alec whipped up some pretty amazing matcha/strawberry macarons one day "just for fun."
Some things I let go of: I got rid of the Weight Watcher's app this month, I hadn't been using it so I figured why keep on paying for it. I hope I can keep up the healthy eating and the near constant motion I've had going!
Linking up with: Spread the Kindness,
I would love a trip to Acadia and how exciting that your son got the apartment he wanted! Those desserts look so tasty.

Thank you! This week he baked up some brownies... it's dangerous having him home for the summer.
DeleteYour trip pictures are so beautiful! What great memories you'll have.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteI am OBSESSED with your date night outfit- gorgeous and you look FAB :)
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you! I told him I had an outfit I bought at the end of last summer that I really wanted to wear that required a nice restaurant to go to. LOL It's so comfy too. I just love it.
DeleteGlad you enjoyed Maine so much! Jeff and I went there a few years ago and were amazed at how different and beautiful it was.
ReplyDeleteWe LOVE Acadia (and just about anywhere on the Maine coast). We try to get up there at least once each year... sometimes twice.
DeleteAw, I loved meeting you too! Those macarons look amazing!
ReplyDeleteThey were so good!
DeleteMaine is on my bucket list! I really need to go on a date soon with hubby, just feels like so much is going on all the time!

Aw, we've had years like that in the past.. nowadays we pretty much never seem to have much of anything going on.
DeleteAcadia does look like such a wonderful place to visit, it looked like you had the best time!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to have your brother and his family nearby and to meet up with Dara too!
That is great news that Alec and his roommate have got an on campus apartment!
Thank you! It really was a wonderful month.
DeleteGreat photos of a fun week. I'm so impressed with anyone he makes macarons. I ought to try making some, but I'm a bit intimidated.
ReplyDeleteSusan
I was really surprised the first time he made some for us; I had no clue how to make them at all. I'm told the key is in waiting for them to dry out a bit before baking them?
DeleteWow, Acadia looks gorgeous! Thanks for sharing photos! I've never made macarons, but I need to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteIt really is such a beautiful area; we went once a few years ago and it's just sort of turned into an annual trip.
DeleteI love your date night look and nails!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteAll that food looks delicious. I love Newport.

It is such a fun seaside town.
DeleteThis is great! A beautiful vacation, family, a blog friend meet-up and date night! Loved the restaurant and all -- it had to be wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThank you; it certainly was.
DeleteWow, your son's macaroons look like he bought them at a bakery!! I also LOVE your date night outfit. Very pretty!!
ReplyDeleteAw, I'll be sure to pass that compliment along. He'll love it. At least I know the money I'm paying for culinary school is worth it.
DeleteSpontaneous date nights are the best. We need to do that more often.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Jodie
We never think to do that either but I am so glad we did and didn't overthink it.
DeleteSo awesome that your brother is nearby. I love your Clara Sunwoo outfit! That dinner looks delish and what is it with cotton candy? It's becoming a thing that restaurants are doing and they're making it all kinds of fancy! I'm dying!!! But your ice cream looks amazing - YUM!
ReplyDeletexo,
Kellyann
Thank you!
DeleteI see that we both made strawberry shortcake this month - a must for summer! I loved seeing all the highlights from your month.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing when I saw your strawberry shortcake!

ReplyDeleteI love that pretty jumpsuit you bought. You have such a nice wardrobe. I can't believe your son made those macarons. They look so pretty and I bet were delicious tasting.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures from Maine are breathtaking. Aww you got to meet Dara. Love that for you both.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Joanne, Maine is so beautiful. We visited Boston but unfortunately couldn't get to Maine on our visit. Thanks for sharing the 4 somethings in June with us at #WBOYC? I hope you have a wonderful July. Sue L xx
ReplyDeleteYour travel photos are gorgeous, Joanne. I have not been as far up the East Coast as Maine. It looks like I'm missing out.
