52 Lists week #27: Trials that Made Me Better

This week's list was one of those that I tried to avoid and put off for as long as possible.  Our assignment: list life trials that made you better was daunting to me.  I kept getting stuck on that word TRIALS... and then thinking... was I better on the other side?  Or just different?

One trial that I know has always made me better is when my husband has to go away for work and I'm left home with the three boys.  It's always a huge time of growth for me to see everything that I can and do handle on my own while he's gone.  It also helps remind me so very much of all that my husband does do to help around the house and with the kids and it makes our marriage stronger in the end.  It makes me stronger and more self- reliant in the end too.

Homeschooling has both been a trial and a joy and I know that it has made me a better mom.

I'm sure there have been others too but these two are the ones that stuck out in my mind the most.

  2. Yes, this was a more difficult list, but I wanted it to stretch us and see how we persevere and learn. Homeschooling has certainly been full of trials, but beautifully covered in blessings, too.

  3. Homeschooling is also on my list. I don't consider it a trial normally, but I have had my moments in the eight years I've been homeschooling where I've wanted to quit! And I am so glad I never did.

    1. Same here.. I don't often consider it a trial but there sure have been times that were. I'm always glad I don't quit in the end but there have been times I have been so tempted.
