This month's Pinterest challenge was all about Thanksgiving and while I don't typically do much extra decorating for the holiday I did see this cute Give Thanks banner that I thought would add a really nice touch to our fireplace.
While the link leads to a free printable version I knew I could easily whip up something cute and quick on my Cricut.
Using Cricut Sans I made my letters in all caps adjusting them all to be around 2" tall. Using a free banner image sized to 3" wide and 4" tall I cut out 6 each in orange and green (this gave me one extra banner but allowed me to cut them all out in just 2 full sheets/cuts).
Once I had everything cut, I laid out my design and glued the letters in place using rubber cement.
After the letters were glued on, I added small holes in the corner of each card to hang them by.
I threaded some ribbon through and then hung it on the mantle before making sure the letters were perfectly spaced.

The 2nd Wednesday of the month means it's time for Let's Look At... last month we were checking out our medicine cabinets and this month we're looking at some of our favorite Amazon purchases. I decided that since I've already shared my favorite purchases of 2021 (here) and my favorite purchases of 2022 (here) that for today's post I'd concentrate on our favorite purchases for summer living. We live right on a lake so I spend a lot of time outside in the sun. A couple of years ago I bought some new floats for the lake and I just LOVE this pineapple and watermelon float. They are HUGE and best of all they've lasted us a few summers now. My favorite place to be in the summer is sitting on this chair on our patio reading a book. Speaking of reading-- I am loving my kindle paperwhite and can't wait to use it by the lake and the pool knowing it's waterproof and can hold so many books it's the only thing I'll need to bring on vacation
I do so well cutting back on my Amazon purchases this month and I am rather proud of myself! I did buy quite a few books for Evan's schooling next year but I'll have a full post of what we're using for his 10th grade curriculum in another month or two when we're ready to wrap up this year. I ordered some bathing suits, shoes, and tops for myself-- and returned them ALL! They were cute and there was nothing wrong with the material but they just weren't my style. I'll share them on here though in case you do think they look like something you'd like. Easily my 2 favorite purchases this past month were this necklace and these adorable heart earrings (though I did have to exchange the first pair I got since they were broken). After all the scrapbooking pages I made last month my Cricut mats were no longer sticky so I bought another set and some more adhesive refills too so I'm ready to dig into our Universal trip this month and start on those pages
It's nearly the end of the month and that means it's time for Share 4 Somethings with Jennifer . As always we're looking at what we loved, read, learned, and ate this month. Loved-- We had some really lovely hikes this month; we've been having so many families showing up for our Friday homeschool hikes. The views near Mashapaug Lake were amazing Read-- I read another great dozen or so books this month and am making great headway into my 52 Book challenge! I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite for the month but am really excited about reading the next 2 books in the dystopian trilogy The Testing. Learned-- I learned that scrapbooking is much easier with an additional table on the side; my husband noticed me putting together all my die cuts together on the floor so I could cut and work on multiple pages at once. He suggesting getting a folding table to set up when working and picked one up on our BJ's trip-- it works so great and no more sore back!! Ate- I
