This month's Pinterest challenge was all about Thanksgiving and while I don't typically do much extra decorating for the holiday I did see this cute Give Thanks banner that I thought would add a really nice touch to our fireplace.
While the link leads to a free printable version I knew I could easily whip up something cute and quick on my Cricut.
Using Cricut Sans I made my letters in all caps adjusting them all to be around 2" tall. Using a free banner image sized to 3" wide and 4" tall I cut out 6 each in orange and green (this gave me one extra banner but allowed me to cut them all out in just 2 full sheets/cuts).
Once I had everything cut, I laid out my design and glued the letters in place using rubber cement.
After the letters were glued on, I added small holes in the corner of each card to hang them by.
I threaded some ribbon through and then hung it on the mantle before making sure the letters were perfectly spaced.

It's the first Monday of the month and time for Prime Purchases with Tanya. I did buy a few things in April but am pretty proud of myself that I do seem to be buying less from Amazon lately (though, admittedly I'm buy plenty of other stuff from other companies!). I needed 8" cake rounds to make Ian's birthday cake and found that I didn't have any; so I bought this set of 3 and I loved that they came with parchment paper rounds to use in them as well. I've been buying the boys some summer clothes and found these nice long shorts for Alec (it's the same set we bought last summer but I went up in size for him). I bought myself a few tank tops for summer-- this more casual/fitted one , and this beautiful flowy, flowery one. I've been wearing my wireless earbuds while cleaning the house so I can listen to my Libby ap but found that the earbuds kept falling out and I decided to try a different pair and style. I ordered these but have yet to try the
This month's Let's Look is all about our morning routine. My morning routine changes quite frequently since I tend to adjust my schedule based on what everyone else in the house has going on. My latest routine goes something like this: 5:00 the alarm goes off (we get to sleep in from 4:30 now that my husband's job was altered). I typically stay in bed until 5:30 reading a book or checking emails on my phone. 5:30 I head downstairs and empty the dishwasher, take out/prep food for dinner, and make sure Evan's schoolwork is set out on the table. This day I made homemade pizza dough and then it sit and rest all day before forming 6 individual pizzas End of the school year means we have very few subjects left 5:45 I make sure Alec is awake and getting dressed for school. 6:00 Both Ian and Alec are in the kitchen making breakfasts and lunch and I often help with the lunches and ask questions to get a low down on their day and who will be home at what time (since they
Can you believe it's already the last weekend of the month? Here in the states we have a long Memorial day weekend and my husband and I took off to Acadia, Maine for the long weekend; we have always made it a priority to get away just the two of us for a little weekend here and there whenever we have that extra money in our budget and I can not wait to hit the trails. Loved: I have loved the warming up of our weather! I got to wear many of my "summer" clothes, our garden is loving the extra sun and warmth too as everything is finally starting to bloom, and best of all I got to ear breakfast on the deck a few times!! Read: I had another great reading month (though I did have one book that made my DNF list) and I had a little lull now and then where I didn't feel like reading, but somehow I still managed to read and listen to another 10 books and have started 3 more that I'll add onto June's wrap up post. Learned: that solar panels produce power even on clou
