Art Project #22: Qixel Arts & Crafts

Lately we've been looking for quick and easy arts and crafts projects.  While I love our 100 days of Art Challenge some days I just don't have it in me to come up with our own craft project.

We've turned to pre- made crafting kits and we're having fun experimenting with different mediums. These Qixel kits are quite neat and my boy have had a lot of fun playing around with them.

These Qixel kits are fun; they come with a board to assemble the pictures on, a few colored grids to chose from and follow, plastic pieces to use to put the pictures together and a squirt bottle to moisten the plastic pieces so they can stick together.

As you can see we're quite fond of them!  Alec has even managed to make up some of his own pictures/ creations-- the hot dog on a bun with mustard and the chocolate chip cookie basket.

Our other art projects:
Project 1: Painting with Hexbugs
Project 2: Tissue paper flowers
Project 3: Star Wars Crafts
Project 4: Watercolor compass circles
Project 5: Floral pens
Project 6: Watercolor outlines
Project 7: Scratch art jellyfish

    1. My boys are intending to try and make minecraft characters out of these. With all the pixelated games out there the possibilities with these Qixels are endless.
