Talking About it Tuesdays #78

Another Tuesday, another link party! We had a lovely long weekend here in the states celebrating the 4th of July. And today my mom and I are headed out on our annual day of birthday shopping/lunch together. It's a tradition we started when my boys were young. My mother in law would watch the boys so my mom and I could have a day just us two and we've kept it going all these years. Truth be told I think both of us look more forward to the company, lunch (and dessert-- it is a birthday celebration, after all) than we do to the actual trying on of clothes/ shopping portion of it but we usually get some pretty amazing deals this time of year. 

 We had lots of great posts linked up at last week's party and I had a tough time picking just a few to feature. I try to always feature a good variety to appeal to a wide range of audience. I feel pretty confident that anyone can find some great posts to read. I can't wait to see what you all link up today!

    I hope you have a great time shopping with your mom! What a fun tradition. Something neat about traditions is just that- a thing that you can look forward to happening year after year.

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. What I Read in June & Share Your Shelf #15

It's the first Thursday of the month and time for Share Your Shelf with  Marilyn,   Jennifer,   Tanya,  and I. This post and link up are dedicated solely to books and book reviews and it's one I look so forward to each and every month. I am always looking for new and more book ideas. I came home from Acadia to find that 8 of the books I had requested through our local library came in all at once; I struggled to get them read as well as the Netgalley books I had downloaded, the 3 books I bought on vacation, and the myriad books I already had lying around the house. Obviously, I couldn't read them ALL but I think I did a pretty decent job chipping steadily away at the pile. I managed to read 14 books in all this month and I enjoyed so many of them so much. You know it's a good month when I couldn't possibly pick a favorite!    1. Favorites and Highlights One Sentence A Day in June 2025

We had such a fun June and it feels like the month just flew by! We did manage to pack a whole lot of fun into our month though.  1.  So thankful Ian took it upon himself to fix our front walk! A windy cold day but Ian worked on the front walk anyway and Evan and I headed out for hike. 11,449 steps.  in all honesty I covered up this shirt with a hooded sweatshirt in no time I set up my chair for the summer and had to try it out; if only for a moment 2. So thankful for a wonderful first day of vacation.  Alec, my husband and I headed to Southwest Harbor Maine stopping in both Kittery and Freeport Maine along the way. 9,961 steps.    3. So thankful for perfect biking weather (and the invention of ebikes).  After a delicious breakfast at our B&B we headed into Bar Harbor to pick up our ebike rentals for the day so we could explore Acadia's carriage roads and then the town before heading back to our B&B to rest and get dinner. 20,003 steps. ...

It's the first Wednesday of the month and time for the currently link up with Jenn. In July we're talking about what we're currently loving, savoring, celebrating, remembering, and trying.  Loving:  Linen! Linen and gauze are my two favorite summer fabrics but this summer in particular I have so many linen pieces I am just LOVING. I got these aqua linen pants in my stitch fix box and I wear them pretty much any time they are clean. I love the color!    I also found these adorable linen blend harem pants on the Old Navy site as I was trying to order another pair of wide leg black linen pants (since mine have a tiny pinhole starting on the leg) and I just love the style so much. I thought the tie around the ankle would drive me nuts like joggers do but they never rode up on my leg once all day.   I haven't had a pair of tan linen pants in years since I'm pretty picky about them; I don't like them lined but I don't want to them to be see through either but I f...
