Talking About it Tuesdays #78

Another Tuesday, another link party! We had a lovely long weekend here in the states celebrating the 4th of July. And today my mom and I are headed out on our annual day of birthday shopping/lunch together. It's a tradition we started when my boys were young. My mother in law would watch the boys so my mom and I could have a day just us two and we've kept it going all these years. Truth be told I think both of us look more forward to the company, lunch (and dessert-- it is a birthday celebration, after all) than we do to the actual trying on of clothes/ shopping portion of it but we usually get some pretty amazing deals this time of year. 

 We had lots of great posts linked up at last week's party and I had a tough time picking just a few to feature. I try to always feature a good variety to appeal to a wide range of audience. I feel pretty confident that anyone can find some great posts to read. I can't wait to see what you all link up today!

    I am always so overwhelmed with all the interesting posts on these link parties. I am not just saying that either. Like this isn't one of those "fake gushing" blog comments (not that I make those! lol!). I truly am amazed and sometimes I open up ten tabs to look at several of the links on here and on the one I co-host and I don't even get to them all or only get to read and not comment before I have to go to bed or do something else. Anyhow, not sure why I shared that other than to say thank you for sharing/hosting this link up. It's so much fun to find new bloggers. Oh and thank you for mentioning my post too!

      Yes! I can get that way too. I try to limit myself (with other link parties and not the ones I host/co-host) to only opening 2-3. Then with the parties I host/co-host I do open them all and at least pin their page to Pinterest/share to social media but still try to limit myself to just reading one from each person/blog that links up. It's still pretty time consuming but somehow seems more manageable that way. Plus it does help that so many of the same people link up at the same parties I participate in.

    It's so nice for the boys to be older so I get to do little shopping outings when I feel like it. I have some birthday/ trip money set aside: I am looking forward to shopping with Jodie this weekend and then I will have a little fun in September for my birthday!

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Prime Purchases in June

 It's the first Monday of the month and time to link up with Andrea and Jill for Prime Purchases. I bought all of 6 items this month.    Our washing machine shredded our comforter so I bought this new one for our bed.   We haven't been able to find my husband's favorite granola in any of our stores (no he doesn't like my homemade granola!) so we bought him this case of 6.    I use these freeze dried strawberries in my homemade granola bars and can't seem to find them locally so I bought this 2 pack; hoping they'll last a couple of months.     Our yard is covered in ant mounts this summer so I bought a couple bags of this diatomaceous Earth natural insect killer.     I was looking for a yellow top to go with a pair of printed shorts I own and ordered quite a few; I kept these two tops even though they don't actually go with the shorts at all...I just really liked them! This yellow one is so cute with the lace detail...

Favorites and Highlights One Sentence A Day in June 2025

We had such a fun June and it feels like the month just flew by! We did manage to pack a whole lot of fun into our month though.  1.  So thankful Ian took it upon himself to fix our front walk! A windy cold day but Ian worked on the front walk anyway and Evan and I headed out for hike. 11,449 steps.  in all honesty I covered up this shirt with a hooded sweatshirt in no time I set up my chair for the summer and had to try it out; if only for a moment 2. So thankful for a wonderful first day of vacation.  Alec, my husband and I headed to Southwest Harbor Maine stopping in both Kittery and Freeport Maine along the way. 9,961 steps.    3. So thankful for perfect biking weather (and the invention of ebikes).  After a delicious breakfast at our B&B we headed into Bar Harbor to pick up our ebike rentals for the day so we could explore Acadia's carriage roads and then the town before heading back to our B&B to rest and get dinner. 20,003 steps. ...

What I Read in June & Share Your Shelf #15

It's the first Thursday of the month and time for Share Your Shelf with  Marilyn,   Jennifer,   Tanya,  and I. This post and link up are dedicated solely to books and book reviews and it's one I look so forward to each and every month. I am always looking for new and more book ideas. I came home from Acadia to find that 8 of the books I had requested through our local library came in all at once; I struggled to get them read as well as the Netgalley books I had downloaded, the 3 books I bought on vacation, and the myriad books I already had lying around the house. Obviously, I couldn't read them ALL but I think I did a pretty decent job chipping steadily away at the pile. I managed to read 14 books in all this month and I enjoyed so many of them so much. You know it's a good month when I couldn't possibly pick a favorite!    1.
