What's Up Wednesday-- June Edition
It's just about the end of the month and time for another What's Up Wednesday post. This month I worked on the post as the month went by so I'm not scrounging around for answers last minute like I was last month.
Here is the list of questions if you'd like to join in:
Let's dive right in!
What We're Eating This Week:
Wednesday: Homemade chicken fingers, loaded baked potato salad, garlic roasted broccoli florets
Thursday: Grilled chicken with squash casserole and tossed salad
Thursday: Grilled chicken with squash casserole and tossed salad
Friday: Pesto pasta with mixed vegetables-- A box of pasta, a package of frozen veggies, and some fresh basil pesto.
What I'm Reminiscing About: Our trip to Hershey at the beginning of the month. We had such a wonderful 4 days and even though the weathermen predicted a total washout we had perfect weather. It was so much fun!!
My husband was so happy to ride the monorail after a long day of what he calls astronaut training (and we all call riding roller coasters) |
What I'm Loving: Right now I am loving our weather and lazy sunny days sitting by the side of the lake sipping iced tea and reading.
What We've Been Up To: Mostly we've been relaxing. The boys swam just about every day for the past week. We've gone boating and tubing and fishing and swimming... all that fun lake stuff.
Here he was later that same day; thankfully unharmed. |
What I'm Working On: I'm using my Cricut and some heat transfer vinyl to decorate some clothing for my niece and nephew. I have a few of my nephews done (he's a HUGE Batman fan) and have moved onto my niece's. Here's a little sneak peak:
What I'm Excited About:
My birthday is in July and I am excited to see what my family has planned. My mother and I typically take a day to go shopping and out to lunch. On my actual birthday my sisters, their kids, and my mom usually show up with food in hand for a not so surprising birthday get together. We started this tradition a few years ago and I just love it.
What I'm Watching/ Reading:
We're still watching Grey's Anatomy and I began watching the Land Girls; a BBC show about World War II. I also FINALLY watched Gilmore Girls A Year in the Life and started re-watching the Gilmore Girls series. My husband and I binge watched the latest installment of The Ranch. The whole family began watching America's Got Talent together while on vacation to Hershey park and we've kept it up. Alec and I FINALLY watched The Greatest Showman too. I did lots of reading over the month and I'll have a full book list coming to the blog on Saturday but some of my favorites this month included I've Got My Eyes On You and The Last Mrs. Parrish.
What I'm Listening To: The boys and I began listening to the lasted Trials of Apollo book: The Burning Maze. It's been so long since we listened to book two that I can't even anticipate what might happen.
What I'm Wearing: Capri pants, tank tops and lots and lots of flip flops!
What I'm Doing this Weekend: We're having my brother and his family over for a little forging lesson and then we'll have a cookout and enjoy the lake (as long as the weather cooperates!)
What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month: More lazy days of summer, more reading, more day trips, more fun!
What Else is New: Not much. Alec and I got my husband hooked on this Xbox game called Overcooked and we've been playing (all 3 of us) a few times a week to try and beat new levels. It's a lot of fun and the kitchens that we're cooking in are just crazy!
