Photos From Alec's Greece Trip: Days 12-14
Friday June 26th they explored Rhodes and both visited their culinary school and also a hotel kitchen where an alum from Johnson and Whales works. So he can't always tell what kitchen photos were taken where... especially since they went to the culinary school two days in a row.

Saturday he forgot to send me any photos but they went to the beach in Rhodes and back to the culinary school to get some more hands on experience. Then explored old town and saw there the Colossus of Rhodes once stood; it's bad luck to rebuild and that is why they never have.

I got a big batch of photos Sunday morning. They had taken a ferry to another nearby island to Rhodes called Symi and spent the day exploring there. This was Alec's favorite stop of the whole trip.

The desserts look so good! As does the scenery!! What was the dessert called that Alec made at home on the 4th? Looks flaky and delic!

DeleteFascinated at the rocky coastline and the kids still lying there- wonder if it hurt? Ha! That dessert looks amazing- did you like it?
ReplyDeleteThe dessert was incredible! I loved it. I've been on a few rocky/pebbly beaches like that. Typically they do hurt to walk on but once you are sitting or lying on a towel/blanket it's fine.

DeleteWhat a wonderful adventure! Learning culinary skills and enjoying suh beautiful scenery with freinds-- the desserts look so delicious. We have a nephew that attended CIA in NY, and is the main chef at an embassy in Washington DC. The beach photo reminded me of the beach of my husband's home town in Italy that is along the Ionian Sea. It also consists of all pebbles.
DeleteAlec was really debating between the two school-- Johnson & Wales and the CIA. The CIA is beautiful! But I was pushing for J&W since it's a good 2 hours closer.

Because it was quiet and quaint and more old world feeling than most of the other areas they visiting since they stuck to a lot of the more major cities.

DeleteI love the scenery! It’s so interesting how pebbly their beaches are compared to ours, where the sand slips through your fingers. Alec did a great job sending you all of his photos. My son went to Bali, and I think I only got three photos, so I’m impressed! Ruth@playworkeatrepeat

DeleteThe desserts all look so delicious - I've never been disappointed by a Greek dessert or pastry, to be honest. Everything I've tried has been "my favorite" LOL The beaches look fabulous - the water is so blue! Thanks for sharing his adventure with us!
