Prime Purchases in September

 It's the first Monday of the month and time for Prime Purchases. I caved in to an offer for a free trial of Amazon Prime at the end of August that allowed me to order a hiking skirt and have it come in in time to for our trip to Montana. Unfortunately, having that free shipping seems to have enticed me to order more... But my free trial is over and hopefully my ordering will tamper off. Though with Christmas coming up that might not be a possibility plus I've already placed 2 orders in October! Meanwhile check out all the stuff I bought last month.  


Clothing:

First up is the hiking skirt I ordered for our trip. I love it... but I didn't get a chance to wear it. Mornings were much too cool for a skirt even though afternoons were downright hot. 


I also ordered another kimono... I want to love them on me as much as I love them on others but It drives me nuts that they often slip off one shoulder or another. 


 

And another one of these chiffon tops; this makes #3! They are a favorite to wear with leggings. I'll be honest though I actually didn't like this print nearly as much once I put it on. The other two tops I have are black and feel more sheer. 


I ordered a couple of fall/winter dresses.

And a cardigan. I'm trying to add more purple into my wardrobe for fall.

I picked up some scrapbooking supplies too; I really wanted some things for our Glacier park trip photos and found a few possible kits that could work.

 I also ordered this birthday paper pack to make this cool 3-D/pop up card for Evan. 


I needed some cookie butter to make Evan's cupcakes and the two local stores I looked in don't carry it. We ended up using nearly this whole jar! 


 

I've had problems with my hip all summer, well my mom started having a similar pain and we were talking about it at the gym with two other ladies... turns out it sounds like I have bursitis of the hip and one lady swears by this arthritis cream. I figured it couldn't hurt to try! I bought this two pack and my mom and I split it.

    The celebrate scrapbook paper is so pretty. I love the colors and design of it. Our Kroger carries Biscoff cookie butter and at our Aldi, I found an Aldi brand of cookie butter once. I have not seen it since (though I could be missing it or maybe they don´t carry it anymore?). It is great that Amazon was a way for you to order some.

    I always enjoy seeing what you have found on amazon. The sweater dress is my favourite this time. The hiking skirt for your trip is super cute, but I would prefer to have my legs covered when hiking to avoid scratches.

    Amazon Prime really does come in handy in the run up to Christmas.
    That hiking skirt looks great and the kimono is so pretty! I do love a sweater dress and what a bonus that it has pockets!!

    I love the skort! I always wear skorts when hiking weather permitting. Your mom and you are probably going to need hip replacements. I suffered with hip pain for several years and tried everything before I finally got a hip replacement and wow, what a difference. My only regret is not getting it done earlier.

    I've heard that Voltaren is great! What if you used some fashion tape to hold the kimono on? Or, some bloggers use the pricing gun thing that gives you the little plastic thingy and that would hold it to your under tank?

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Share Your Shelf # 18 & Books I Read in September

 It's the first Thursday of the month and time for Share Your Shelf with  Marilyn,   Jennifer,   Tanya,  and I. This post and link up are dedicated solely to books and book reviews and it's one I look so forward to each and every month. I am always looking for new and more book ideas. I thought I was going to have such a long list of books to share with our long plane rides but I hardly read at all on vacation. I did manage to read 10 books this month and quite a variety of them at that. I also finished my 52 Books Challenge completely.    1. My Next Breath by Jeremy Renner-- I feel like I live in a cave sometimes. I had no idea that Jeremy Renner had a near death accident with a snowcat years ago and underwent many surgeries and extensive rehab. Would You Rather; Fall Edition

I was looking for a quick and fun blog post when I stumbled upon this graphic on Pinterest.  I stopped by Life By Wyetha's blog and found so many great Would You Rather and printable game ideas for parties.  It's a really fun blog and you should definitely check it out (here!) .  With her permission, I'm using her adorable graphic for today's post.  As always, I've circled my answers and, of course, will go into even more detail below.   Other than a few football games when I was in high school, I've never even watched football so my obvious answer was movies!  I don't like scary movies though so you'll find me watching things like Runaway Bride, Stepmom, Love Story, Autumn in New York, St. Elmo's Fire, Good Will Hunting, etc.  While I love iced tea, I only drink hot tea when I'm sick.  I much prefer a mug of cocoa!  When my boys were younger we used to visit a corn maze (and a different one at that!) each fall.  We have so many n...

Currently... October 2025

It's the first Wednesday of the month so it's time for the Currently link up with Jenn. The prompts for October are loving, anticipating, looking forward to, wearing, and cooking.  Loving:  This time of year I love our hikes and seeing all the pretty leaves.  Evan and I had a fabulous morning at the zoo. I loved seeing all the animals out enjoying our nice weather too.   Anticipating: I am anticipating sleep in this morning. Evan and I went to a concert last night; it was at a new (to us) concert venue. It was an indoor/outdoor venue and we were encouraged to get there super early for parking. Think 4 pm for an 8 pm show! We anticipated large crowds and not getting home until the wee hours of this morning since the venue is easily an hour away and we heard traffic afterwards could be brutal. BUT since I was anticipating having a wonderful time at the show I tried to just focus on the band/music/performance and block all the rest of it out.  Looking forward to: ...
