Prime Purchases in September

It's the first Monday of the month and time for Prime Purchases. I caved in to an offer for a free trial of Amazon Prime at the end of August that allowed me to order a hiking skirt and have it come in in time to for our trip to Montana. Unfortunately, having that free shipping seems to have enticed me to order more... But my free trial is over and hopefully my ordering will tamper off. Though with Christmas coming up that might not be a possibility plus I've already placed 2 orders in October! Meanwhile check out all the stuff I bought last month.

Clothing:

First up is the hiking skirt I ordered for our trip. I love it... but I didn't get a chance to wear it. Mornings were much too cool for a skirt even though afternoons were downright hot.

I also ordered another kimono... I want to love them on me as much as I love them on others but It drives me nuts that they often slip off one shoulder or another.

And another one of these chiffon tops; this makes #3! They are a favorite to wear with leggings. I'll be honest though I actually didn't like this print nearly as much once I put it on. The other two tops I have are black and feel more sheer.

I ordered a couple of fall/winter dresses.

This sweater dress with pockets.

I thought this velvet dress would be great for Christmas

This tiered dress in purple.

And a cardigan. I'm trying to add more purple into my wardrobe for fall.

For Evan's Birthday:

I ordered these plates/napkins

This cute cake topper

a pair of earbuds
I picked up some scrapbooking supplies too; I really wanted some things for our Glacier park trip photos and found a few possible kits that could work.

This national park collection

This camping collection (though we don't camp, I figured it was outdoorsy).

Woodland animals printed paper pack

I also ordered this birthday paper pack to make this cool 3-D/pop up card for Evan.

I needed some cookie butter to make Evan's cupcakes and the two local stores I looked in don't carry it. We ended up using nearly this whole jar!

I've had problems with my hip all summer, well my mom started having a similar pain and we were talking about it at the gym with two other ladies... turns out it sounds like I have bursitis of the hip and one lady swears by this arthritis cream. I figured it couldn't hurt to try! I bought this two pack and my mom and I split it.

  2. The celebrate scrapbook paper is so pretty. I love the colors and design of it. Our Kroger carries Biscoff cookie butter and at our Aldi, I found an Aldi brand of cookie butter once. I have not seen it since (though I could be missing it or maybe they don´t carry it anymore?). It is great that Amazon was a way for you to order some.

    1. I used to find Biscoff cookie butter at our local store so I was surprised when I couldn't; I did only check 2 stores but I knew I was running out of time.

  3. I always enjoy seeing what you have found on amazon. The sweater dress is my favourite this time. The hiking skirt for your trip is super cute, but I would prefer to have my legs covered when hiking to avoid scratches.

    1. Thank you! It depends on where we're hiking as to whether I want my legs covered or not. Many of our trails are quite rocky and don't have much in the way of plants on them.

  4. Amazon Prime really does come in handy in the run up to Christmas.
That hiking skirt looks great and the kimono is so pretty! I do love a sweater dress and what a bonus that it has pockets!!

    1. Isn't that so cute! I knew I could have made something similar on my cricut but I just loved the sentiment. He kept pointing out all the things he could and couldn't do after turning 18 so this was just perfect for him.

  7. I love the skort! I always wear skorts when hiking weather permitting. Your mom and you are probably going to need hip replacements. I suffered with hip pain for several years and tried everything before I finally got a hip replacement and wow, what a difference. My only regret is not getting it done earlier.

    1. Possibly but my hip only hurt for a month and my mom's was less than a week.

  8. I've heard that Voltaren is great! What if you used some fashion tape to hold the kimono on? Or, some bloggers use the pricing gun thing that gives you the little plastic thingy and that would hold it to your under tank?

    1. I thought about using fashion tape but I think the plastic from the pricing guns would drive me nutty.

  9. My sister uses that cream on her knees and swears by it. I've been meaning to try it too. Did it help you? #MMBC

    1. It really did! I used it a time or two after hiking and haven't had to reach for it again (though I might need it when we go hiking up the mountain in another 2 weeks).

    1. I liked that it had lots of pockets (many with zippers too) so I could hike relatively unencumbered.

  15. You got some really nice things especially all those tops. They look really good on you. The sweater dress looks nice and cozy and warm. Nice paper goods for the 18 birthday celebration too. Looks like you are ready for the cooler weather. How easy is it to order on Amazon.

  17. My eyes lit up at the Biscoff cookie butter haha. That is one of my favorite things about Delta flights haha. I really love the sweater dress with pockets! I'll be adding that to my Amazon list!

  18. See, that's why I don't have it! It's just too tempting! We have used Voltaren. I didn't find it all that great. It has that cooling sensation that makes you feel better, but I'm not sure it did much. I also think it may be an NSAID, but check the label to be sure.

    1. They were delicious... but reminded all of us more of a pumpkin flavor that cookie butter. Odd since there was no pumpkin in it at all but I think the cinnamon/nutmeg combo overpowered the cookie butter flavor.

  23. We LOVE our Prime membership status. It's ridiculous but we do use it all the time. Big fan of that sweater dress with pockets, that would be super cozy and dressy enough for a casual lunch date, coffee date, church, etc. Seeing this post reminded me that I need to get down to planning Anya's 16th birthday party and get some special things ordered.
