Transitioning from Summer to Fall with Ageless Style

It's the third Thursday of the month and time for another ageless style challenge. This month Bo picked back to school/ transitioning summer to fall. Since I'm not heading back to school I focused more on transitioning an outfit from summer into fall. 

I wore this outfit to tour a college with Evan and had hoped to talk him into taking my photo on campus but he was not at all okay with that. I finally settled on some mirror selfies and called it good enough. 
 
I paired my jumpsuit with some flip flops and a trio of gold hoop earrings. I love a good one and done outfit. Since it was going to be in the 80's I wanted something cool yet professional-ish looking.  

To transition this outfit into fall I'd add a topper piece with sleeves. I tried on 3 different jackets I had that would pair well with this jumpsuit.

I could have swapped out my shoes too for something more "fall" like booties or sneakers but our flip flop season is far too short to give them up before the weather gets really cold and I can't wear them anymore.

    You mean your son wasn't ok taking fashion photos of you on his campus? Why Not? :). I love your jumpsuit. The colors are perfect for transitioning to fall.

      I was thinking after I posted this that I also have a denim jean jacket I would've paired with it but I couldn't find it at the time. It has since turned up.. in our dining room.

    I can't believe Evan passed up a chance of taking fashion photos of you at a college campus ;-) The jumper looks great with the blazers. The black one is my favorite too. I like the 3/4 sleeves.

    I think this was such a good way of showing how one piece, your jumpsuit, can be worn so many ways! My granddaughter, when she takes my photos, is always a little reticent, at first. But, I pay her so she's OK with that!

    I thought your jumpsuit was a dress! I like it. The jacket is a great way to make it suitable for colder temperatures too. I'm a cardigan girl myself. I don't own any jackets.

    College tour, wow. How are you feeling about him leaving? My oldest is of to university but gets to live at home. Anyway, I love this jumpsuit and blazers are the perfect topper!

      His older brother is already off at university so I'm not nearly as nervous about him leaving home.. though I do worry about HIM at college since he's not nearly as outgoing and social as his brother.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? 3 Things Thursday

I haven't done a 3 Things Thursday since November of 2023; I had hoped to make it a fairly regular thing but turns out coming up with 3 things to share about each of us at the same time is much harder than I thought. I also struggle with what to share about other family members now that the boys are all adults-- luckily mine don't seem to care all that much (unless it's photos and then they are quite vocal so I always check with them first).  Ian  1. Ian bought himself another piece of equipment for his business. It's fun watching him zip around in the skid steer to move snow piles around. I guess I should mention what his business is! He's started a hardscaping business. That means he does things like lay patios, build walk ways, build retaining walls, etc. Mostly working with block and stone. 21 Pilots The Clancy Tour Breach 2025

Last Tuesday, September 30th, Evan and I had tickets to see 21 Pilots in concert in Hartford Ct. The show was at an indoor/outdoor venue called the Xfinity Center (not to be confused with the other indoor/outdoor Xfinitiy Center in Massachusetts). We had never been to the Xfinity Center and had no idea what to expect. Reviews online were not favorable but we really enjoyed it. I'll liberally sprinkle photos in around all the details, feel free to skip them and just look- most of the details are for me to remember anyway!  I wore comfy clothes with large pockets so I didn't need to bring a bag with me. I carried just my phone (with my credit card tucked inside), keys, and ear plugs. We were surprised to find ourselves so close to the stage! 15 Family Restaurant Games

When my boys were little and we'd take them out to eat I kept a small bag of toys in the car to grab on our way into any restaurant.  That way they would be entertained and a bit quieter while we enjoyed our meal. Now that the boys are older we don't keep a bag of toys handy but we do have few games we use to keep the boys occupied if they start getting bored or squirmy while we're waiting for our food or our check. While there are many phone apps, portable gaming systems and electronic games that could occupy my kids we prefer to use the time together at restaurants to connect with one another and so we tend to play games like: Hangman--   any restaurant that has paper place mats works well for this.  We take turns picking  a word and drawing our hangman stand then take turns calling out letters and seeing if we can solve the puzzle.   Tic Tac Toe-- This works best with pen on paper place mats but we have played making a grid with butter knives ...

Share Our Lives: My Frequent Grocery Store Buys

It's the second Monday and time for Share Our Lives. The monthly link up where we share snippets of our lives. This month we're talking about some of our most frequent grocery store buys.  I don't know why but I find I am rather fascinated by what people buy at the grocery store. I tend to check out the carts of those around me as we shop too.  I've noticed our groceries change every few years. I remember when the boys were little I'd buy 3 gallons of milk a week! I had big milk drinkers. Even my husband would order milk to drink when we went out to restaurants...  now weirdly no one really ever drinks it so I don't buy any!     But since this is all about the things we DO buy and those things that we buy frequently I thought I'd share those things that seem to ALWAYS be on my list now.
