Transitioning from Summer to Fall with Ageless Style

It's the third Thursday of the month and time for another ageless style challenge. This month Bo picked back to school/ transitioning summer to fall. Since I'm not heading back to school I focused more on transitioning an outfit from summer into fall. 

I wore this outfit to tour a college with Evan and had hoped to talk him into taking my photo on campus but he was not at all okay with that. I finally settled on some mirror selfies and called it good enough. 
 
I paired my jumpsuit with some flip flops and a trio of gold hoop earrings. I love a good one and done outfit. Since it was going to be in the 80's I wanted something cool yet professional-ish looking.  

To transition this outfit into fall I'd add a topper piece with sleeves. I tried on 3 different jackets I had that would pair well with this jumpsuit.

I could have swapped out my shoes too for something more "fall" like booties or sneakers but our flip flop season is far too short to give them up before the weather gets really cold and I can't wear them anymore.

    You mean your son wasn't ok taking fashion photos of you on his campus? Why Not? :). I love your jumpsuit. The colors are perfect for transitioning to fall.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Each year near the end of December/ beginning of January I share the top 10 posts of the year but this year, in particular, I have noticed some much older posts that are still bringing in lots of pageviews and thought it would be fun to look back and see a top 10 list of all time.  I started my blog in June of 2012 and while so many of my first posts were long blocky, chunky rambles without any real photos of us and our family I just can't bring myself to delete any of them as I really do enjoy looking back and seeing how my blog has change and grown over time. 2 College Visits in 2 Weekends!

 Evan and I have visited 2 colleges these past 2 Fridays in a row. With Ian being so resistant to going to any college and Alec ONLY wanting to look at culinary colleges (the whole 2 we found) this is the first time we've really had to put a lot of effort into finding just the right fit for a college for one of our boys.  Since Evan hopes to study psychology his field of study does not narrow down our choices much. I did limit him to staying within New England/New York (basically within a day's drive) to make it a bit easier on all of us and since in his words he's "only ever had a classroom of 1-3 students, a small school would be best."  I am LOVING all the tours so much. Each school is brimming with their own possibilities. Friday August we checked out Bryant University and were surprised by how much we both liked it. 100 Days of Science #68-- Index Card Tower

My boys did such a wonderful job with their spaghetti bridges and popsicle stick bridges that I decided to look up some other fun STEM challenges.  I found a fun index card challenge that I thought they might like.  I handed each of them a package of index cards from the dollar store and asked them to build the tallest tower they could just using index cards.   Evan struggled quite a bit at first not thinking about folding the cards in any way but once we saw what his older brother's were doing he hatched a new plan.  Every now and then they'd stop to measure their towers.. being very careful not to knock them over. Ian build his tower on our coffee table making sure to use a nice wide base. Ian's tower was the tallest by just a few inches and Evan had the shortest.
