Summer in my Garden
My garden tends to show off the most in late spring and early summer. By mid- July/ beginning of August there isn't much color left anywhere. But those explosions of color at the start of July really make up for it!
This is the time all of my hydrangeas and lilies burst into bloom. My dahlias are still going strong!
I have lots of varieties of lilies tucked here, there and everywhere.
My hydrangeas start out rather light and get darker and darker each week; changing colors several times before fall fully settles in.
I have some pure white hydrangeas too that are such a fun and different variety than the blue.
My mother in law bought me this plant for mother's day and it's been blooming all summer!
The mother's day hanging basket Alec bought me is still going strong too!
By August the hydrangeas are turning a deep purple.

That first bloom is absolutely amazing! Wow, how pretty! I also really love that close up of the hydrangeas. I am pleased with my zinnias this year and will plant a border of them next summer by the bird feeders.

So pretty! This is inspiring me to plant more colorful perennials. I have a bunch of hostas and they're mostly green stems and leaves with just a little bit of color.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful flowers and vibrant colors- great job!
ReplyDeleteI just love hydrangeas so much! But, that first flower is gorgeous. I think I would like to plant some zinnias. I didn't know what they were until recently.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty flowers and beautiful colours! It sounds like your garden has been doing really well.
