The boys and I have been waiting all summer to go to Southwick's zoo. They had announced earlier this spring that new baby cheetahs had been born and we could not wait to see them.. but they were kept off exhibit for several weeks while they grew and were cared for.
We decided to pick a day at the end of July (after they were introduced to the zoo) to go. We brought my mom along and spent a good 4 hours at the zoo. I'm pretty sure we saw every animal there at least once if not twice.
Our first stop was to see the new cubs. There are 2 girls and a boy.
The cubs are only out for the first 2 hours of the day so we wanted to make sure we saw them before heading off to check out the rest of the zoo.

We stopped for a delicious lunch at Gia Restorante Italiano on the way home. We had never been there before but it was a really yummy meal-- especially after being on our feet for so many hours.

I love going to zoos - except for the smell in some areas. I love watching a sloth! I love watching the penguins. And, if there is a water show with water animals that is really appealing to me.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoy zoos and aquariums a lot too. This zoo typically has some bird shows but I didn't see any showtimes listed this day.
DeleteSuch sweet babies! Such gorgeous pictures! A great day!
ReplyDeleteIt really was!
DeleteOh my word those babies are precious!
ReplyDeleteAren't they so cute? They make the most adorable little chirping sounds too. Lots of the animals were very vocal this day.
DeleteGreat pictures of some amazing zoo animals!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteLooks like fun and the babies are so cute!
ReplyDeleteIt was a really fun day.
DeleteOh my gosh I want to cuddle those cheetah babies! Lol. And that serval and the capybara as well.
ReplyDeleteThe little girl standing next to us told the zookeeper she wished she could take one home as a pet! LOL
DeleteGreat zoo pictures. I haven't visited the zoo in a long time; you've inspired me to pick a day to go enjoy the animals.
ReplyDeleteOh you really should!
DeleteCool photos! The little Cheetahs are adorable.

DeleteThis is a good reminder to get to our zoo this year. Those little cheetahs are so cute!! Worth the trip :)
ReplyDeleteThey were definitely worth the trip.
DeleteHow fun you got to see the new baby animals! I hope to go to the zoo when it cools off a little more here. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe were so thankful that it was a pretty mild day! The zoo is no fun when it's hot.
DeleteWhat a fantastic day out and the baby cheetahs are just adorable. You saw so many different animals, how cool!
ReplyDeleteWe really did see so much.
DeleteI love the baby cheetahs. You were lucky to see them.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteY'all got to see so many beautiful animals, but the baby cheetahs take the cake! They are soooo precious. That fuzzy hair!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that so cute?! They have that fuzzy silver hair down the back to protect them because in the wild it makes them look like honey badgers to their predators and honey badgers are quite aggressive.
DeleteCute cubs are so adorable. Lovely clicks. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteThe baby cheetahs are indeed adorable.
ReplyDeleteIn all fairness I do think most baby animals are pretty adorable but they were quite active and playful.
DeleteGosh what a fun day!!
ReplyDeleteSeeing those animals would just make my day
Xoxo
