10 on the 10th for June 2025: 10 Things I Love

Today is a double post day again (I also posted about our first couple of days in Acadia) but I just had to participate with Marsha's 10 on the 10th this month. I haven't participated in one in a long time and I really liked this month's prompt. I am all about photos and sharing 10 photos of things I really like or love was too much fun to resist. 


 While these are not necessarily my favorite photos; these are photos that symbolize my favorite things/people. In no particular order my 10 favorites are:

    I have to laugh at the flip flops .... I always say that - I wear flip flops from usually March to November

      My family jokes that I wear them from snow melt to the first snow fall (I've gotten a bit wimpier about the cold so I don't quite make it that long anymore but pretty darn close).

    Such lovely photos, we have lots in common especially where flip flops are concerned. From April to October that's all I wear on my feet.

    Great photos and I love you list. I'm also so in awe of your posting schedule. I can barely get one a week out lately. I did more when the kids were little!! You are motivating me to make more time for it, since blogging would definitely be in my top 10!!

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Share our Lives: What I Love About Where We Live

This month for Share Our lives we're talking about the unique features of where we live and why we love where we live. First off I guess I should start with where we live! We live in Connecticut; just a small state in southern New England which makes it so very easy to visit ALL the other New England states. In just 2-3 hours I can be in Maine, New Hampshire, or Vermont. In minutes I can be in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.    One thing I love about where we live is that in just about an hour I can be anywhere:  I can be at the beach/shoreline (in either Ct, Mass, or Rhode Island). I can be in the mountains (in Ct, Mass, New Hampshire).   Mt. Wachusett-- Massachusetts  Mt.Monadnock- New Hampshire Castle Craig-- Ct. I can be in 3 different state capital cities-- Hartford, Ct, Prividence, RI, or Boston, Massachusettes. And we have many smaller cities like Worcester, Mass even closer than that. So it's easy to pop in and see a show or make a weekend trip....

100 Days of Science #68-- Index Card Tower

My boys did such a wonderful job with their spaghetti bridges and popsicle stick bridges that I decided to look up some other fun STEM challenges.  I found a fun index card challenge that I thought they might like.  I handed each of them a package of index cards from the dollar store and asked them to build the tallest tower they could just using index cards.   Evan struggled quite a bit at first not thinking about folding the cards in any way but once we saw what his older brother's were doing he hatched a new plan.  Every now and then they'd stop to measure their towers.. being very careful not to knock them over. Ian build his tower on our coffee table making sure to use a nice wide base. Ian's tower was the tallest by just a few inches and Evan had the shortest. Acadia 2025 Trip Days 4 & 5: Giant Cranberry Island and Heading Back Home

 Our last full day in Acadia and Alec was looking for something different to do that didn't include biking or hiking. We decided to ferry over to Giant Cranberry Island. But first we had breakfast. Daniel prepared a port wine poached pear and shakshuka with a chocolate croissant for our main dish. It was all quite delicious!  Before we went to pick up the ferry, Alec wanted to walk down to check out a local cafe Dora had told us about. He ordered a pastry and an iced matcha latte. He said they were very good but I just loved the decor inside the cafe. They had adorable fake plants and little lights everywhere.  We walked to the ferry dock and found we only had about 20 minutes to wait. I purchased our tickets online and we all boarded the ferry. It's the "off"/shoulder season in Acadia so the ferry only runs every 3 which means we had 3 hours on Giant Cranberry Island.... well 3 hours is about an hour and a half too long.
