10 on the 10th for June 2025: 10 Things I Love

Today is a double post day again (I also posted about our first couple of days in Acadia) but I just had to participate with Marsha's 10 on the 10th this month. I haven't participated in one in a long time and I really liked this month's prompt. I am all about photos and sharing 10 photos of things I really like or love was too much fun to resist. 


 While these are not necessarily my favorite photos; these are photos that symbolize my favorite things/people. In no particular order my 10 favorites are:

    I have to laugh at the flip flops .... I always say that - I wear flip flops from usually March to November

      My family jokes that I wear them from snow melt to the first snow fall (I've gotten a bit wimpier about the cold so I don't quite make it that long anymore but pretty darn close).

    Aww! This post did make me smile. The only thing I am not so keen on is flip flops, I don't like the bit in-between my toes.

    Such lovely photos, we have lots in common especially where flip flops are concerned. From April to October that's all I wear on my feet.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Favorites and Highlighs in May; One Sentence a Day

Oh May! It was a colder and rainier May than we expected but we still had a pretty great month.  1. So thankful to see everything turning green again. Gym, getting caught up on the blog and then a lovely hike with both Alec and Evan in the afternoon. 14,591 steps.  2. So thankful to be able to help out a friend that is facing a hysterectomy. I was woken up around 3 by a loud thunderstorm and never made it back to sleep so I skipped the gym and headed to the grocery store between rain storms. Then I spent my day in the kitchen making salad, cutting up fruit, making Ian's birthday cake, making some salad dressings, getting dinner going in the crock pot, etc. 5,260 steps. 3. So thankful to finally catch up on some sleep. I spent my morning frosting Ian's cake and running errands with my husband then ended up taking a 2 1/2 hour nap after lunch before more rain and thunderstorms moved in.  Step counter died.. Share our Lives: What I Love About Where We Live

This month for Share Our lives we're talking about the unique features of where we live and why we love where we live. First off I guess I should start with where we live! We live in Connecticut; just a small state in southern New England which makes it so very easy to visit ALL the other New England states. In just 2-3 hours I can be in Maine, New Hampshire, or Vermont. In minutes I can be in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.    One thing I love about where we live is that in just about an hour I can be anywhere:  I can be at the beach/shoreline (in either Ct, Mass, or Rhode Island). I can be in the mountains (in Ct, Mass, New Hampshire).   Mt. Wachusett-- Massachusetts  Mt.Monadnock- New Hampshire Castle Craig-- Ct. I can be in 3 different state capital cities-- Hartford, Ct, Prividence, RI, or Boston, Massachusettes. And we have many smaller cities like Worcester, Mass even closer than that. So it's easy to pop in and see a show or make a weekend trip....

10 Most Popular Posts of All Time

Each year near the end of December/ beginning of January I share the top 10 posts of the year but this year, in particular, I have noticed some much older posts that are still bringing in lots of pageviews and thought it would be fun to look back and see a top 10 list of all time.  I started my blog in June of 2012 and while so many of my first posts were long blocky, chunky rambles without any real photos of us and our family I just can't bring myself to delete any of them as I really do enjoy looking back and seeing how my blog has change and grown over time. Not surprisingly all my top 10 posts are from more recent years.  I love to look at what is popular and try to figure out WHY each post is so popular.
