Cards and Scrapbook Pages I Made in May

 I had a busy month of card making! Congratulations, thank you, Mother's day, anniversary, graduation, etc.-- I had a whole variety of occasions to make cards for and a whole long list of people to send them to.










My mother in law reminded me of this cool "shattered glass" effect I taught her years ago

 I played around with  embossing paste and stencils to make some neat textured backgrounds: 





I needed something that started with "tu" for my card and decided Tulips fit the bill perfectly.

I rarely think to use my Cricut for card making but found some really cute graduation cards ideas on there. 





I finished up the pages for our Hawaii trip entirely (well, aside from two photos I'm missing and had to reorder through Shutterfly)! 







clearly this one is missing a photo but I ordered the one to fit in the empty placeholder so I considered it "done"

    Everything is so nice! While I made cards years (and years!) ago, they were nothing compared to your lovely cards. I do think that shatter glass effect is quite nice!       Thank you so much! I don't use old cards to make them; I use cardstock to make the bases and them stamp or layer other papers/images to form my cards.

    Your cards are so pretty! I especially love the pink and green Mother's Day card with the raised floral design. I don't make cards, but I buy a boatload this time of year.Three nephews, one niece, one daughter, and one grandson all have birthdays between May 1 and June 16. Then two had graduations, plus Mother's Day and I always send cards to my sisters and sisters in law too so whew, it's a lot. I try to get them all bought and give them to my hubs in a pile to sign all at once as opposed to one here and one there. I've learned this is the better way lol. Have a great day!

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Share 4 Somethings in June 2025

Since the last Saturday of the month is tomorrow it's just about time for Share 4 Somethings with Jenn. As always we're sharing some things we loved, some things we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of .  Some things I've loved:  I LOVED our trip to Maine! Acadia is just so beautiful and we had such perfect weather too.   I've LOVED having my brother and his family so close this month; they moved into the campground near our house this summer and it's fun spotting them randomly on our road. I LOVED getting to spent the afternoon in Newport with Dara (Not in Jersey blog) and her family. They are the sweetest, nicest people!    I LOVED the last minute date night my husband and I planned this past weekend. We got dressed and headed to Foxwoods to try one of their steak houses. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. What's Up Wednesday in June

It's the last Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for What's Up Wednesday. I can't believe our first month of summer is already ending!  What We're Eating:  lots of salads and fresh veggies... and lots of ice cream too. Life is all about balance, right?   What I'm Reminiscing About:  Nothing at the moment!  What I'm Loving:  Our "new" front walk that Ian re-did for us. Based on how well water runs off it when it rains I don't think we'll have much problems with ice this winter. Monthly Musings Summer Vacation Edition

 It's the last Thursday of the month and time for Monthly Musings with Patty and Holly. I already had a post set for today ( this delicious chicken pesto sandwich recipe ) but when I saw this months questions were all about vacations I couldn't resist joining in!   1. We have a very late summer trip (AFTER Labor day) planned to Glacier National Park. It's just me and my husband. We did take Alec to Acadia in spring/early June but neither of the other two boys seemed interested in any trips this year.  2. When it's just my husband and I we don't have much post-vacation laundry and since we each do our own we're normally caught up by the next day. If all 5 of us are going on vacation we rent an airB&B/VRBO so we have a washer and dryer and just wash as we go.  3. Well, we've only been on a handful of summer vacations since we always took vacations in the off season; we live on a lake so summer is our favorite season at home plus with homeschooling and that...
