Holiday Center Folding Card Tutorial

I love making my holiday cards!  But I always have such a hard time deciding on just one stamp set or one style of card to make.

This year I did my best to keep all my cards the same and only swapped out the patterned background paper.  I almost always start on Pinterest looking for inspiration before making any card of any kind.  When I stumbled upon a center opening card I just knew I wanted to try making them this year.

I began by cutting my red cardstock in half and then instead of folding it in half I scored each side at 2 1/8."  As soon as I had all the card bases made I set them aside and went to work cutting my patterned paper into strips that were 5 1/2" by 1 7/8."

I put the patterned paper on each flap of the card and then cut coordinated plain colored paper for the inside of each card (3 1/2" x 5") and adhered those using my tape runner as well.

With the bulk of my card done I turned to stamping my image.  I stamped the center image using my Peace, Love, Joy stamp from Stampin' Up! It is part of the All Year Cheer 1 set from 2002.  I stamped in red on a bright white background sized 2 1/8" x 2 1/2."

I layered my white image over another color paper (sometimes green and sometimes gray depending on the patterned paper I was pairing it with).  The larger paper was sized 2 1/2" x 2 3/4."

I then cut one final rectangle for my center image at 2 3/4" x 3."  I forgot to take a picture of these steps but you can see the completed image and layers on the card front.

Once all my center images were done I used my tape runner to add tape to just one side of the image and adhered it to the card front.
