Virtual Refrigerator-- Floral Crafts and Decorated Bowls

Thanks for stopping by and joining us again this week as we host another virtual refrigerator arts and crafts link up.


We've been crafting up a storm this week!

My two younger boys bought some flowers and supplies at the dollar store to participate in a dollar store craft challenge on Monday.

Alec made a beautiful wreath and Evan had fun helping me decorate a series of tins we had found at The Christmas Tree shops.

The boys also begged me to learn how to decorate ceramic bowls using the Circut and some vinyl.  We spent an afternoon playing around with my machine and they made some really cute bowls.





Alec's bowl has swirls of greenery all around the entire bowl 

Ian's just says Ice Cream in shiny gold letters 

Evan wanted the words Ice Cream with a giant scoop of ice cream in the middle

      They really were and the boys did such a great job with them. Often new crafts can get them frustrated but they all enjoyed these.

      Thank you. I have only used my Cricut 4 times or so since I got it for Christmas so I'm trying to make more of an effort to really use it and figure all the ins and outs of it. I figured if I started using it with them I was more likely to tackle some of the more intimidating projects I keep putting off.

15 Family Restaurant Games

When my boys were little and we'd take them out to eat I kept a small bag of toys in the car to grab on our way into any restaurant.  That way they would be entertained and a bit quieter while we enjoyed our meal. Now that the boys are older we don't keep a bag of toys handy but we do have few games we use to keep the boys occupied if they start getting bored or squirmy while we're waiting for our food or our check. Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Growing pains aired in 1985 which put me around age 8 and it stayed on the air until I was 15 or so; I'm pretty sure most people in my age group watched mostly for Kirk Cameron and all his antics.  I still have a soft spot for family sit-coms!  The Facts of Life aired when I was just 2  and stayed on the air until I was 11 so I'm sure the episodes I remember so fondly were either some of the later ones and then reruns shown later on when I was old enough to watch from the beginning. What I've been Priming Lately

I haven't shared a Prime Purchases post yet in 2026 so I thought I'd pull together a list to share for today's post... I am, however, skipping over Evan's dorm supplies that we've primed because I plan to write a whole separate post later on all his dorm things.  Thanks Tanya for the graphic!  Over the last 3 months we've bought:  My husband uses this body wash and it's not always easy to find. We find the 3 pack on Amazon is the best bang for our buck and then I don't have to worry about ordering any again for a long while.     I also like to stock up on batteries through Amazon. We bought this AAA pac k and this AA pack.     My husband only uses this brand and flavor of granola and again we (often) find this 6 pack is a better deal than we can find at any of our local stores.    Our sink drain stoppers were looking so awful and even running them through the dishwasher was just not getting them clean so I decided to order this ...

Glacier National Park Trip Days 1 & 2: The Huckleberry Patch & Grinnell Glacier hike

We left home Tuesday September 3rd early in the morning, at 4 am, to make our 7am flight out of Providence. It was a very uneventful day of flying and we had just enough time on our connecting flight through Chicago to go to the bathroom and grab some nice warm bagels for a late breakfast.  We landed in Kalispell around noon (their time-- 2pm our time), got our bags, found our rental, then checked into the hotel.   We stayed at Beargrass Lodge and RV park. We had a deluxe king room that had a kitchenette inside.   We headed out to find food and found that the restaurant Marilyn recommended was just 1 minute away from our hotel. We ate delicious Patch Burgers-- burgers made with their signature huckleberry BBQ sauce, and an onion ring on top. They were delicious! After a full day of travel and only a bagel plus a few snacks the plane handed out I was starving.    We did a quick grocery run, got our fruit cup up and ice made/bagged for our early start on...

Highlights and Favorites: A Sentence a Day in March

Hmm... January ended with an arctic freeze, February ended with a blizzard, March found us without power for a couple of days. Between all the rain we've gotten and all the snow melting we have been dealing with lots of muddy, boggy ground. But I'll take it!  1.  Just so thankful for a quiet day at HOME after our early morning arrival Saturday.  Sunday morning Ian was off to Vegas and my husband and I headed out grocery shopping, I washed all Ian's bedding and moved Alec into Ian's room (Alec's spring break was the same week Ian is gone and with my brother living in Alec's room this was our best solution), then spent the rest of my afternoon getting caught up on blogging. 4,842 steps. 2.  So thankful for delightful TV shows that just suck me right in. Gym, cleaned the boys' bathroom, finished my latest novel, got some photos from Ian; he toured the Hoover Dam today. 7,071 steps.  3. Thankful that we finally got our tax stuff done so the accountant can begin...
