Virtual Refrigerator-- Floral Crafts and Decorated Bowls

Thanks for stopping by and joining us again this week as we host another virtual refrigerator arts and crafts link up.


We've been crafting up a storm this week!

My two younger boys bought some flowers and supplies at the dollar store to participate in a dollar store craft challenge on Monday.

Alec made a beautiful wreath and Evan had fun helping me decorate a series of tins we had found at The Christmas Tree shops.

The boys also begged me to learn how to decorate ceramic bowls using the Circut and some vinyl.  We spent an afternoon playing around with my machine and they made some really cute bowls.





Alec's bowl has swirls of greenery all around the entire bowl 

Ian's just says Ice Cream in shiny gold letters 

Evan wanted the words Ice Cream with a giant scoop of ice cream in the middle

      They really were and the boys did such a great job with them. Often new crafts can get them frustrated but they all enjoyed these.

    I always enjoy seeing what you are working on with your boys. They did a good job! I love the bowls too. I don't have a Cricut, but I want one! Thank you for sharing on Party in Your PJ's. Pinned.

      Thank you. I have only used my Cricut 4 times or so since I got it for Christmas so I'm trying to make more of an effort to really use it and figure all the ins and outs of it. I figured if I started using it with them I was more likely to tackle some of the more intimidating projects I keep putting off.

15 Family Restaurant Games

When my boys were little and we'd take them out to eat I kept a small bag of toys in the car to grab on our way into any restaurant.  That way they would be entertained and a bit quieter while we enjoyed our meal. Now that the boys are older we don't keep a bag of toys handy but we do have few games we use to keep the boys occupied if they start getting bored or squirmy while we're waiting for our food or our check. Bloggers Weekend in Asheville Days 3 & 4

 Day 3 was Sunday and Maria was leaving early in the morning since she had a long term substitute teaching job she had to get back to on Monday and also wanted to pop in and see her daughter since she was driving right through the town Abby lives in. Tanya and I really wanted to check out The Biltmore Estate and Marilyn reluctantly agreed (in her defense she has been there before and it is SUUUUPER expensive... like $125! for the day).  That said we ended up spending over 5 hours there and we still didn't see everything. I mean we saw the whole inside of the house and most of the gardens but while we drove over the village and went inside one of the buildings for a wine tasting we didn't see much else of the village and if we hadn't been lagging in all energy we might have been able to spend even more time exploring. Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Growing pains aired in 1985 which put me around age 8 and it stayed on the air until I was 15 or so; I'm pretty sure most people in my age group watched mostly for Kirk Cameron and all his antics.  I still have a soft spot for family sit-coms!  The Facts of Life aired when I was just 2  and stayed on the air until I was 11 so I'm sure the episodes I remember so fondly were either some of the later ones and then reruns shown later on when I was old enough to watch from the beginning. Share Our Lives: My Favorite Cleaning Products

It's the second Monday and time for Share Our Lives. The monthly link up where we share snippets of our lives. This month we're talking about our favorite cleaning products.  I took photos of cleaning products as I used them and am sharing them in no particular order.  I use Dawn dish soap as a stain remover for our laundry. It works particularly well with kitchen oil/ salad dressing stains.  I don't, however, use it on our dishes.  This (or All Free & Clear) is our usual laundry detergent.  We use this in our dishwasher. And this is what we use on our dishes when washing by hand (also what we use on our countertop and table).  I use white vinegar for so much-- I water it down to use on our floors in our refillable mop, I add 1 cup to the laundry when I want to remove odors (like with our towels). Cleans windows/glass without streaks, I mix it with salt and use it on weeds..  Baking soda is also used to boost laundry detergent. I sprinkle it in pan...

Bloggers Weekend in Asheville Days 1 & 2

This was our 3rd annual bloggers weekend ( year 1 was Nashville here , year 2 was Louisville here ) and we planned to meet in Asheville, North Carolina. I was the only one flying in... and it was not easy finding flights into Asheville! My first day was spent traveling, as was everyone else's. Jenn texted in the morning that she was sick and had to back out. We were all disappointed.  I left for the airport before lunch and landed in Asheville around 6:30 after a long layover in Atlanta. I walked the terminal to get in some extra steps and picked up a really delicious sandwich for a late lunch/ early dinner.   Maria had kindly offered to pick me up and we met up with the other ladies at our AirB&B that Marilyn found us by 7.   Marilyn and Tanya put out quite a spread and Maria added some goodies too.
