Virtual Refrigerator-- Floral Crafts and Decorated Bowls

Thanks for stopping by and joining us again this week as we host another virtual refrigerator arts and crafts link up.


We've been crafting up a storm this week!

My two younger boys bought some flowers and supplies at the dollar store to participate in a dollar store craft challenge on Monday.

Alec made a beautiful wreath and Evan had fun helping me decorate a series of tins we had found at The Christmas Tree shops.

The boys also begged me to learn how to decorate ceramic bowls using the Circut and some vinyl.  We spent an afternoon playing around with my machine and they made some really cute bowls.





Alec's bowl has swirls of greenery all around the entire bowl 

Ian's just says Ice Cream in shiny gold letters 

Evan wanted the words Ice Cream with a giant scoop of ice cream in the middle

      They really were and the boys did such a great job with them. Often new crafts can get them frustrated but they all enjoyed these.

      Thank you. I have only used my Cricut 4 times or so since I got it for Christmas so I'm trying to make more of an effort to really use it and figure all the ins and outs of it. I figured if I started using it with them I was more likely to tackle some of the more intimidating projects I keep putting off.

Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Growing pains aired in 1985 which put me around age 8 and it stayed on the air until I was 15 or so; I'm pretty sure most people in my age group watched mostly for Kirk Cameron and all his antics.  I still have a soft spot for family sit-coms!  The Facts of Life aired when I was just 2  and stayed on the air until I was 11 so I'm sure the episodes I remember so fondly were either some of the later ones and then reruns shown later on when I was old enough to watch from the beginning. Midi, Maxi, Or Mini Skirts & Dresses with Ageless Style

It's the third Thursday of the month and time for another ageless style challenge. This month I picked styling mini, mini, or maxi skirts & dresses which is an admittedly odd choice for someone that hardly ever wears skirts or dresses... and usually not in fall at all. But I wanted to step outside of my comfort zone just a bit.  I typically only wear above the knee (mini) or maxi skirts and dress. I honestly don't think I own anything midi length. For fall I tend to pair dresses with boots or booties and often a scarf and leggings too.   All of the above photos were taken from my archives but I did put together a brand new look for today's challenge. I had this maxi jean skirt I bought years ago and still had the tags on it! I decided to pair that with one of my favorite cozy sweaters and a pair of boots.    I added a long necklace and some chunky earrings to finish off the outfit. Fall Home Decor Tour

I didn't put out all the fall decorations this year but I did use a lot of them. It took me just one afternoon and I only put decorations in the 3 main rooms of the house this year. Day in the Life: The Day of Evan's First College Interview

 I decided to document last Friday October 17th, for my Day in the Life. It's been a long time since I've done a day in the life but I always enjoy reading them. So I figured why not? 5:30-- I woke up and got right to blogging.  6:00- I set the computer aside and got dressed, made the the bed, etc. 6:30-- Leave for the gym photo taken as I was leaving.. when it was finally light enough for a photo! 8:00-- home from the gym and I head upstairs to get dressed and ready for the day while Evan starts school and eats breakfast without me.  8:30-- I started prepping dinner; I was making a turkey pot pie. While Also overseeing/helping Evan with his schoolwork when needed. 9:00 I sat down to eat breakfast and do a bit of blogging 9:30-- Laundry, took out the garbage, brushed my teeth, filled the dishwasher-- all those fun morning chores.  10:00 - 11:30 -- I sat down to do some scrapbooking and got 3 more double page spreads all laid out.     11:30-12:30 I actu...
