Back to the Future with the Hodgepodge
I could not resist joining in with Joyce's Hodgepodge Wednesday this week as the questions were just too fun to resist.
1. This week's Hodgepodge lands on 'Back To The Future Day'. October 21, 2015 was the date the movie characters (Marty McFly, Doc, and Jennifer Parker) traveled to in the future in the 1989 film Back To The Future Part 2.
Did you see the movie? Tell us a something about what was happening in your life in the fall of 2015.
Oh yes, I've seen the movie many, many times. It's a fun one.
Let's see... in the fall of 2015 we were deep into our homeschooling journey and spent lots of time on field trips with our friends. We went to Great Wolf Lodge, the apple orchard, toured a fort, took a glass fusion class, went to Battleship cove to see all the ships, took an oceanography class, went to Plimoth Plantation, participated in our homeschool science fair and so much more.

| Ian's science fair project was all about the different types of bridges |

2. Which -ber month is your favorite? (September, October, November, December). Explain why.
I'd say it's a tie between September and October because the weather is usually just perfect-- not too hot, not too cold and it's the best time to go hiking. We also have 2 birthdays in our family during these months; Evan's is in September and my husband's is in October. While I enjoy November and December as well by then it usually feels much more like winter and I do not like that.
3. Red, yellow, orange, bronze...your favorite fall color to wear? To eat? To see in nature?
Wear-- I'm pretty sure I only have one or two items in each Red, Yellow, and Orange (I don't think I have anything in bronze) ... but I'd say red is my favorite to wear.

| Though because of the style this is one of my all time favorite sweaters. |
Eat-- probably red (I eat apples, raspberries, strawberries, and tomatoes pretty much every day) though I do try to "eat a rainbow" daily as well. The only yellow food that I can think of that I enjoy eating is pineapple...
See-- reds; though I do think all the colors together is what makes fall so pretty.
4. What do you miss most about being 20?
I honestly don't remember much about being 20.. I know I was in college and I definitely do not miss the stress of good grades/studying/planning my classes but I think I miss spending so much time with friends. It was definitely easier to make time to see each other before kids and stuff got in the way. I asked my husband and his answer was no pain! Not waking up feeling more achy then when you went to bed.. and yeah, I definitely miss that!
I don't know/think we were exactly 20 here but I know this was taken on a trip we took during college...

I've been doubling up on my workouts and keeping a really accurate food log again as I am focused on my health/weight/nutrition after slacking off for so much of the summer.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
While touring Alec's school's culinary museum, we learned that food trucks, as they are today, were started in Providence, Rhode Island. In 1872 a man called Walter Scott cut windows into the sides of a small covered wagon and parked it outside the newspaper office to sell lunch items to night-shift journalists.
