Sentence a Day in May: Highlights and Favorites
I had a really Fabulous May! Of course there were stressful times and not every moment was wonderful but overall it really was nice. We had a great trip and saw so many completely new to us landscapes and places. We had some really beautiful weather (and some really cold and rainy weather too) and we got so very many things ticked off our very long to do list.
1. So thankful for a delicious lunch out with my boys. Took the boy out to lunch and to the comic book store, brought a load of stuff to my brother and brought him back to our house to pick up his truck, while also making sure everything was all set for our vacation. 8,488 steps.
2. So thankful all our flights were smooth and on time. Flew into Salt Lake City and then drove the 4 hours to Moab-- it was a loooong travel day (especially with the 2 hour time change thrown in). 3,745 steps.
3. So thankful for views like these! Up super early, headed to Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse State Park next door and spent our day hiking and exploring and taking so many photos. 14,760 steps.
4. So thankful we avoided the crowds all day. We visited Arches national park and spent the afternoon relaxing, resting and napping at the rental before enjoying a real beautiful dinner out at Sunset Grill. 15,822 steps.
5. So thankful for the sweet workers we encountered in Panguitch, Utah. We packed up our rental and got in the car headed to Panguitch with a stop at Capitol Reef National Park on the way, eating dinner and getting groceries at some little mom & pop places in Panguitch. 15,822 steps.
6. So thankful I packed 2 jackets with me for this trip! Visited Bryce Canyon today in the freezing cold wind and were back at the rental by 2 or so to rest and relax before cooking dinner. 12,765 steps.
7. So thankful we managed to squeeze this last national park into our trip. We planned to visit Zion and just "see what we could see" and we saw SO much of it! We did 3 or 4 hikes and drove both scenic roads, ate lunch at the lodge, and of course checked out the visitor's center. 16,695 steps.
8. Thankful for a safe trip to and through Salt Lake City-- those people fly on the highway, traffic or not. Last full day in Utah & we decided to check out Red Canyon before heading back to Salt Lake City and our hotel for the night. 5,000+ steps (my counter malfunctioned but I know it had reached at least 5,000 if not closer to 7,000)
9. Thankful flying home was mostly uneventful; we did have one guy sitting behind us with air sickness, and our second flight was delayed just slightly (with a medical emergency once we took off)... but FOR US the flights were pretty uneventful. 6,712 steps.

10. SO thankful to have my mom so near us for the summer! Mother's day was spent doing ALL the adulting things-- groceries, laundry, balanced the checkbook, wrote out bills, etc. but did stop in to see both moms and drop off gifts. 7,607 steps.

11. Thankful for such a beautiful sunset on the lake. Woke up early to drive my husband to work and went to the gym then home to clean, work on blogging, and get a whole to do list of things done. 7,713 steps.
12. So thankful we were able to find 3 possible pairs of shoes and lots of pants/shorts to order for Alec.Alec and I ordered clothes and shoes for his trip and looked into where to get Euros then I spent my afternoon baking granola bars and reading. 5,494 steps.
13. Thankful for fabulous books that keep me entertained. Started my morning off with a hair cut then cleaned a good portion of the house before settling down to finish reading my latest book then ended the night talking with my parents in their trailer. 3,869 steps.
14. Thankful the rain held off until I got home from the gym since it poured most of the day. Gym, laundry, reading, and visiting with Ian pretty much summed up my day. 6,141 steps.
15. Thankful the garage door broke AFTER I left the house. Gym, then spent the day cleaning out my closet and my evening grocery shopping. 7,512 steps.
16. Thankful for a really beautiful day and time to sit outside and enjoy it. Spent the morning reading and watching Remarkably Bright Creatures then went to BJ's with my husband and spent the rest of my day pulling out the deck furniture. 6,480 steps.
17. So thankful for a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt, homemade granola, and local honey. Spent the day putting out all the garden decorations, getting the patio cleaned off and putting out the furniture then ran to Target for some household cleaning stuff I needed. 5,122 steps.
18. Thankful I got so much crossed off my to do list today. Gym, we got Evan's health stuff finished for college, I spent the day reading, cleaning, and cooking 7,271 steps.

19. Thankful we were able to defer Alec's jury duty summons without any issues. I spent my morning waiting for the garage door company to show up, hopefully we'll have it fixed in a week but other than that it was so hot I mostly just laid around in the air conditioning and read my book. 5,350.
20. Thankful for air conditioning. Gym, library, filled up the tank, a quick grocery pick up, then home to eat, read, food prep and blog. 5,787
21. Thankful for a rainy day spent crafting. Gym, reading, then spent most of my afternoon crafting/making cards. 5,870 steps.
22. Thankful for a wonderful and caring doctor (that doesn't make me feel bad I can't find a primary care physician!) Skipped the gym since I had a yearly exam with my doctor this morning then home to read and relax before ending the night grocery shopping. 5,169 steps.

23. Thankful for such a productive day. Spent the morning in the kitchen then went to Runnings to buy grass seed and stuff for the yard, worked in the yard then headed to Five Guys for lunch and to Lowe's for MORE stuff for the yard and even managed to squeeze in some laundry and some light sewing projects before cooking dinner. 8,151 steps.
24. So thankful for a fabulous date night out. A rainy day spent sewing, reading, blogging, and ended the night with an early anniversary dinner at Alt Astrada at Foxoowds. 8,755 steps.
25. Thankful for help cleaning the house. Another pretty rainy day so I spent my time cleaning house, washing bedding, reading, and then helped split wood later in the day when the rain finally stopped. 5,533 steps.
26. So thankful we found shoes for Alec. Yoga, spent the day shopping with Alec for shoes; it was exhausting but at least we finally found some! 8,323 steps.
27. So thankful for an armful of good books from the library (where I go to vote). Gym, home to do all the housework, & voted on our town budget before treating myself to an ice cream dinner. 9,502 steps.

28. So thankful everything went well and so quick with emissions testing and my errands. Emission testing, lots of shoe returns for Alec (sandals for his trip & work shoes that didn't fit), errands, etc. then home to enjoy breakfast and lunch lakeside. 9,866 steps.
29. So thankful we got to see another truly fabulous Broadway show so close to home. Gym. waited around most of the day for workers but got my garage door fixed, then Alec and I had an early dinner and headed into the city to see The Lion King. 7,406 steps.
30. Thankful for a lovely visit with my parents after dinner. I spent this very cold and rainy day getting food prepped, grocery shopping, laundry, and reading. 5,037 steps.
31.So thankful the rain held off until after we ate. We headed to Maine and stood in line for my husband's lobster rolls before continuing on to Acadia. 8,413 steps.
