Share Our Lives: My Favorite Cleaning Products

It's the second Monday and time for Share Our Lives. The monthly link up where we share snippets of our lives.

This month we're talking about our favorite cleaning products.

I took photos of cleaning products as I used them and am sharing them in no particular order. 

I use Dawn dish soap as a stain remover for our laundry. It works particularly well with kitchen oil/ salad dressing stains.  I don't, however, use it on our dishes. 

This (or All Free & Clear) is our usual laundry detergent. 

We use this in our dishwasher.

And this is what we use on our dishes when washing by hand (also what we use on our countertop and table). 

I use white vinegar for so much-- I water it down to use on our floors in our refillable mop, I add 1 cup to the laundry when I want to remove odors (like with our towels). Cleans windows/glass without streaks, I mix it with salt and use it on weeds.. 

Baking soda is also used to boost laundry detergent. I sprinkle it in pans when I need to scrub them but can't use our chain mail scrubber as it adds a nice abrasive quality to the sponge. 

Our refillable mop that I use the diluted vinegar in. 

I don't really use this on glass surfaces but I do like to use it on our washer/dryer and other appliances. 

Our toilet bowl cleaner; paired with a toilet brush or a pumice stone it keeps our toilets nice and bright white. 

This 2-piece cleaning set is what I use on mirrors and my interior car windows. It is AMAZING! It just uses water and keeps them sparkling clean and completely streak free. 

My favorite smelling bathroom cleaner. 


I'm sure there are a few other products I've forgotten but these are the ones I use on a weekly basis.

    That is really cool about the e-cloth and how well it does on glass. I'm intrigued and want to try it! Thanks for sharing your products.

    I found this so interesting to read, seeing different things you use to me in England. That is a good idea using dish soap as a stain remover. A Method spray is on my list too.

    I love that e cloth set, too! How awesome to just use water. I hate the smell of vinegar but do use it sometimes. Dawn for grease stains is like magic! I love Method, too. It smells so nice. Honestly, I think water or a damp cloth work so well for many things. I really do try not to use too many chemicals.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? 15 Family Restaurant Games

When my boys were little and we'd take them out to eat I kept a small bag of toys in the car to grab on our way into any restaurant.  That way they would be entertained and a bit quieter while we enjoyed our meal. Now that the boys are older we don't keep a bag of toys handy but we do have few games we use to keep the boys occupied if they start getting bored or squirmy while we're waiting for our food or our check. While there are many phone apps, portable gaming systems and electronic games that could occupy my kids we prefer to use the time together at restaurants to connect with one another and so we tend to play games like: Hangman--   any restaurant that has paper place mats works well for this.  We take turns picking  a word and drawing our hangman stand then take turns calling out letters and seeing if we can solve the puzzle.   Tic Tac Toe-- This works best with pen on paper place mats but we have played making a grid with butter knives ...

What I've been Priming Lately

I haven't shared a Prime Purchases post yet in 2026 so I thought I'd pull together a list to share for today's post... I am, however, skipping over Evan's dorm supplies that we've primed because I plan to write a whole separate post later on all his dorm things.  Thanks Tanya for the graphic!  Over the last 3 months we've bought:  My husband uses this body wash and it's not always easy to find. We find the 3 pack on Amazon is the best bang for our buck and then I don't have to worry about ordering any again for a long while.     I also like to stock up on batteries through Amazon. We bought this AAA pac k and this AA pack.     My husband only uses this brand and flavor of granola and again we (often) find this 6 pack is a better deal than we can find at any of our local stores.    Our sink drain stoppers were looking so awful and even running them through the dishwasher was just not getting them clean so I decided to order this ...

Vegetable Stir- Fry with Zoodles

This is another one of those recipes where I really just tell you some of the amounts and ingredients used because, honestly, we never make it quite the same way twice! I use whatever vegetables I happen to have on hand and mix it up with different seasonings and things too. Sometimes we add in a protein like chick peas (like we did today) other times it might be diced firm tofu, it really is a very adaptable recipe and up to you.   I tend to only make these zoodle & vegetable stir-frys when Alec will be around since he and I are the only two that eat it! I don't care though because I just love it! Other than the chopping and prepping the vegetables; which I tend to do in the morning. Share 4 Somethings in August

Tomorrow is the last Saturday of the month the time for the Share 4 Somethings link up with Jennifer.  I really enjoy this cute little wrap up of the month even if it might overlap a bit with my What's Up Wednesday posts.  I hope you all don't mind too much!    As always we're looking at what we Loved, Learned, Read, and Ate this month.  Loved-- Seeing my family! My aunt drove up with her husband from North Carolina and her brother drove up from Florida so we had a big family cookout with my mom and my brother and his family.  It was so wonderful to see everyone and we had such beautiful weather too. (Though I am cracking up seeing all these serious faces in my photos! LOL- I swear we all had a fabulous time!).  Learned-- We learned about a "new" Wildlife Sanctuary not that far from us called Norcross and we went to check it out my mom, my aunt, and my aunt's husband.
