Share 4 Somethings in April, 2026
Tomorrow is the last Saturday of the month and time for Share 4 Somethings with Jenn. This year we're sharing something we loved, something that sustained us, something we're carrying forward, and something we're making space for each month.
Something I loved:
Our new patio-- Ian (and myself, Evan, and my husband) worked on putting in a small patio for our generator and Ian's new fuel tank/pump to sit on. We sanded and painted our generator to match and while I can't say it looks lovely it looks so much better than it used to.
Touring the Biltmore!
Touring Kingscote with Evan:
Breakfast with Alec-- not only was the food incredible but the company was really nice too.
Something that sustained me: I feel like I ate so good this month (and by that I mean more that the food tasted amazing rather than it was incredibly healthy)... but I still managed to maintain my weight so I'm happy. This has felt sustaining and it has made me so happy to not be making every single meal, every single day, all month long. I NEEDED this break.
Date night with my husband at the Cheesecake Factory:
Breakfast at the AirB&B provided by Joyce, Marilyn, & Maria
Dinner at Sierra Nevada Brewing company:
Ice cream from Celtic Creamery & The Biltmore:
Dinner from Tupelo Honey:
Freshly made sandwich at a random stop at the airport:
Lunch out with Evan (for some reason I have craving red meat constantly!):
Something I'm carrying forward: An "All Things in Moderation" mindset.
Something I'm making space for: Alec is moving home this coming Wednesday but my brother doesn't move out until Friday (or maybe even Saturday depending on his schedule) so we're quite literally making room for all of Alec's stuff and Alec himself.

I'm glad you had a break from cooking- sometimes breaks are just needed! Your food pics all look really good. The burger with the sauteed veggies looks amazing. How fun to have another date night- you guys are so good about getting away together for a meal/night out. The blog trip was such a great experience and I'm happy for you that it included the Biltmore!! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you! We actually have a date night on the books for tomorrow!
DeleteGood luck as you transition Alec back and say bye to your brother. Great job on the new place for the generator! You had some good meals this month! I'm sure you walked a lot and it all evened out!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteYeah! Alec's school year seemed so quick to me- how about you? All of your meals look so delish!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I always feel like his school years are shorter-- I know they are changing the calendar entirely next year and he won't get out until mid-May so I'm wondering if that longer winter break and going those extra two weeks will feel really different (I think they will).
DeleteThat patio will be so amazing! I have a blogger weekend planned in July and I'm so looking forward to it and after seeing yours.

Oh I hope you have an amazing time!
DeleteI loved our trip this month too! I am not sure that I have seen a generator that big, but I would think it is necessary up there to have one that size. I hope the move transition goes well. I know that is a lot of moving parts.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lot of moving parts but I figure we'll all get settled soon.
DeleteYour delicious food pics always make me hungry! Hope all goes well with moving Alec and your brother. How nice to have Alec home :) Ruth@playworkeatrepeat
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteNice, neat little patio, even if it is for utility! The food pictures have me thinking I need to go rustle up some breakfast!
ReplyDeleteI hope you found something good to eat!
DeleteThe meals look absolutely delicious 😋
ReplyDeleteThe patio project is going to be such a great addition.
Wishing you smooth sailing as Alec moves back in and you juggle the transition.
Thank you!
DeleteIt looks like the boys have been busy, the new patio looks great and how wonderful to meet up with the amazing blogger ladies.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great month of food, everything looks so good, especially the dinner on the date night.
How great to have Alec back home. It sounds like it's going to be fun having a house full.
It should be lots of fun.
DeleteSounds like a great month. Very exciting that Alec is coming home!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is! I'm just hoping we have nice weather for his actual moving day.
DeleteThat patio looks like hard, wonderful work. Oh, the enjoyment you will have. Loved seeing Biltmore again!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love a month that is full of good food!! We had a delicious meal out last week and it was the first time that we have been somewhere where the food was incredible and the service was amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI seen a piece of quiche? I think! I love quiche!
Yes, Joyce made us the most amazing quiche. I LOVE a good quiche too.
DeleteGlad you had a break from Cooking! We all need that. Loved seeing Biltmore pictures a gain and all the blog friends.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI'm so glad we all went on the trip to NC! The generator project looks so good (or as good as a generator and fuel tank can look!) Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteSo much going on Joanne and wow those meals look so good!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteThanks to you, I now have the Biltmore estate on our list of places to visit. It looks so incredible.

They do...and I do too!
DeleteYou had some delicious meals. I've been craving red meat, too. I think it's because I've done everything there is to be done with chicken breasts! I'm so glad you made it to two mansions!

Thanks!
DeleteOh always that delicious ice cream, lol. Love it!
ReplyDeleteMe too; it's a vacation treat.
DeleteLooks like you had a great time with your friends. I enjoyed the pictures and the food looks really good!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI still haven't been to the Biltmore! It's within driving distance for me so I need to make it a priority. All your food photos are making me hungry. It's fresh strawberry season around here, so I think I'll go eat a few! :)
ReplyDeleteOh you really do!
DeleteWow! I don't know what a fuel pump is but ya'll look ready for the end of the world with those two big items. All the food you ate looks amazing. I know what you mean about not having to cook for a while, but after a vacation of eating out all week, I look forward to home cooked meals again.
ReplyDeleteOh yes me too! I love the break from cooking but usually start craving fruits and veggies and "regular" food after just a couple of days.
DeleteOMG.. we have a Biltmore in Coral Gables Miami area which I am going to review in a few days. The only thing is I literally forgot to take photos!!!! Your photos are wonderful and I'm glad you enjoyed your visit for your friends.
ReplyDeleteOops! I hate when I do that.
DeleteAll things in moderation. Goodness, but that would have served me well over the past few days. Way too much celebrating for me! Might need to carry that forward myself!
ReplyDeleteIt's tough when we host a party or celebration and have far too many goodies left over but most of the rest of the time I do well to remember this.
DeleteYour Nashville trip looks so fun! I've been to the Biltmore twice; Hayden loves it, and it's so fun to visit. Tupelo Honey is a fave restaurant! Looks like you had lots of great food this month!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWOW Biltmore looks amazing! And that cake - soooo good!!
ReplyDeleteIt really was incredible.
DeleteThe patio turned out very well I think. It looks very neat!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteLooks like a great month. That patio is impressive. The food and travels look so awesome!

DeleteIt sounds like a great month. The food looks/sounds super yummy! I hope the moving in of Alec and moving out of your brother all went smoothly! Have a great weekend!
