10 on the 10th in April, 2026

 It's the 10th and time for 10 on the 10th with Marsha. This month we're back to answering some would you rather questions. These are often a little wacky and a whole lot of fun!


1. Would you rather rock a mullet or a perm? Well this one is a piece of cake as I already rock a perm and have for as far back as I can remember.

 


2. Would you rather have a magic carpet or a crystal ball? I'm not a fan of heights so I'll go with crystal ball. I'm not sure I'd really use it much but it would look pretty. 

3. Would you rather be able to teleport anywhere instantly or read minds? Teleport anywhere (think of the airline savings!).. besides knowing what it's like in my mind I have zero desire to read anyone else's. 

4. Would you rather eat chocolate flavored broccoli or broccoli flavored chocolate? Chocolate flavored broccoli for sure! I mean I like broccoli just fine the way it is but I'm pretty sure we'd eat it even more if it tasted like chocolate. 


5. Would you rather have a talking toilet or a talking fridge? Neither but I'd pick fridge over toilet.. something tells me I don't want to know what the toilet would say! 

6.  Would you rather sneeze glitter or cry jelly? Both sound really messy but since I tend to cry far less than I sneeze I'll go with cry jelly. 

7. Would you rather make a snowman or  build a sandcastle? Sandcastle! That hopefully means I'm on a nice warm beach somewhere and I have had more than enough of winter at this point. 


8. Would you rather have a pet unicorn or a pet dragon? Neither-- no pets for me. They are just far too much work and I've never been a huge fan of unicorns or dragons. 

9. Would you rather be the funniest person in the room or the smartest? Hm.. this is a tricky one. I guess I'll go with funniest.

10. Would you rather have a conversation with your past self or your future self? Probably my future self; I know most conversations with my past self would be reassuring me that everything would work out just fine and to stop worrying and I'm hoping that's what future me would say too. I can always use the help tamping down that anxiety!

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! 15 Family Restaurant Games

When my boys were little and we'd take them out to eat I kept a small bag of toys in the car to grab on our way into any restaurant.  That way they would be entertained and a bit quieter while we enjoyed our meal. Now that the boys are older we don't keep a bag of toys handy but we do have few games we use to keep the boys occupied if they start getting bored or squirmy while we're waiting for our food or our check. While there are many phone apps, portable gaming systems and electronic games that could occupy my kids we prefer to use the time together at restaurants to connect with one another and so we tend to play games like: Hangman--   any restaurant that has paper place mats works well for this.  We take turns picking  a word and drawing our hangman stand then take turns calling out letters and seeing if we can solve the puzzle.   Tic Tac Toe-- This works best with pen on paper place mats but we have played making a grid with butter knives ...

What I've been Priming Lately

I haven't shared a Prime Purchases post yet in 2026 so I thought I'd pull together a list to share for today's post... I am, however, skipping over Evan's dorm supplies that we've primed because I plan to write a whole separate post later on all his dorm things.  Thanks Tanya for the graphic!  Over the last 3 months we've bought:  My husband uses this body wash and it's not always easy to find. We find the 3 pack on Amazon is the best bang for our buck and then I don't have to worry about ordering any again for a long while.     I also like to stock up on batteries through Amazon. We bought this AAA pac k and this AA pack.     My husband only uses this brand and flavor of granola and again we (often) find this 6 pack is a better deal than we can find at any of our local stores.    Our sink drain stoppers were looking so awful and even running them through the dishwasher was just not getting them clean so I decided to order this ...

Recipes We've Been Making Lately: Winter/ Early Spring 2026

 We have been trying out some really yummy recipes these past few months!   We tried this better than take out cashew chicken one night with some rice; none of us have ever had cashew chicken and cashew chicken take out isn't a possibility here but we enjoyed it all the same.    We tried these 30 minutes rolls another night and they were pretty tasty!    I tried this family favorite boneless pork roast ; I used dried herbs and added potatoes around the roast while it was cooking. I forgot to snap a photo of it finished but did snap one before it cooked. We all thought it was really tasty.   We made these oven baked boneless beef ribs while in North Carolina and they were delicious (though we did omit cumin since I don't really like that spice)! Acadia 2025 Trip Days 4 & 5: Giant Cranberry Island and Heading Back Home

 Our last full day in Acadia and Alec was looking for something different to do that didn't include biking or hiking. We decided to ferry over to Giant Cranberry Island. But first we had breakfast. Daniel prepared a port wine poached pear and shakshuka with a chocolate croissant for our main dish. It was all quite delicious!  Before we went to pick up the ferry, Alec wanted to walk down to check out a local cafe Dora had told us about. He ordered a pastry and an iced matcha latte. He said they were very good but I just loved the decor inside the cafe. They had adorable fake plants and little lights everywhere.  We walked to the ferry dock and found we only had about 20 minutes to wait. I purchased our tickets online and we all boarded the ferry. It's the "off"/shoulder season in Acadia so the ferry only runs every 3 which means we had 3 hours on Giant Cranberry Island.... well 3 hours is about an hour and a half too long.
