Talking About it Tuesday #112

Happy St. Patrick's day! I've got my corned beef recipe ready to go, I like to boil the corned beef and cabbage then finish the corned beef off under the broiler with a brown sugar/mustard glaze on it. We roast potatoes and carrots to go with it and I'm making a pistachio layered dessert I remember from my childhood. Hopefully everyone else in the house will like it too.

We had another very successful link party last week. Thank you all for coming back week after week and sharing as well as reading and commenting on others. I just love this community!

  2. A little shop is selling big and small galvanized cans of flowers here. The small is $22 and the large is $33. That would be such an easy thing to make and then go buy clearance flowers or use flowers from your yard.

  8. Happy St Patrick's Day! Your holiday menu sounds delicious, Joanne. I also roast my corned beef and cabbage, potatoes and carrots as I like the carmelized roasted flavors better than boiled. The NY Times had a recipe for a Guinness Chocolate Cake that I am tempted to make, but I think a loaf of Irish Soda Bread will suffice this year :)

  16. I have never made corn beef! We didn't do anything special on St Patrick's day, but I need to remind the boys to read about the life of St. Patrick!

    1. We used to make a much bigger deal of the day when the boys were younger... I think as a homeschooling mom I was always looking for something special and extra to do that gave us a break from our standard work.

    1. Thank you... sadly we didn't get to eat our meal as we lost power on Tuesday and didn't get it back until late last night. We did enjoy the cake I had made ahead of time though!
