Talking About it Tuesday #112
Happy St. Patrick's day! I've got my corned beef recipe ready to go, I like to boil the corned beef and cabbage then finish the corned beef off under the broiler with a brown sugar/mustard glaze on it. We roast potatoes and carrots to go with it and I'm making a pistachio layered dessert I remember from my childhood. Hopefully everyone else in the house will like it too.
We had another very successful link party last week. Thank you all for coming back week after week and sharing as well as reading and commenting on others. I just love this community!

This party will remain open until the weekend. My hope is that everyone will share all sorts of wonderful posts: travel, recipes, how to's, crafting ideas, and more-- up to 3 posts per blog. Anything that is family friendly is welcome; even old posts that you'd like to get some new views.

Happy St. Patrick's Day, Joanne! ☘️ As always, thanks for the party!
ReplyDeleteThank you & you're welcome!
DeleteA little shop is selling big and small galvanized cans of flowers here. The small is $22 and the large is $33. That would be such an easy thing to make and then go buy clearance flowers or use flowers from your yard.
ReplyDeleteIt really would!
DeleteJoanne,

DeleteJoanne, I love your idea of finishing up the corned beef under the broiler. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It adds a nice sweet crispiness that we just love.

DeleteHappy St. Patrick's Day! Thank you so much for the feature. I hope you're having a great week!
ReplyDeleteAw, you're welcome!
DeleteHappy St Patrick's Day! Your holiday menu sounds delicious, Joanne. I also roast my corned beef and cabbage, potatoes and carrots as I like the carmelized roasted flavors better than boiled. The NY Times had a recipe for a Guinness Chocolate Cake that I am tempted to make, but I think a loaf of Irish Soda Bread will suffice this year :)
ReplyDeleteI like the caramelized, roasted flavors better than boiled too.
DeleteOMG, that loaf cake sure looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't that look yummy?
DeleteMorning, Joanne, thank you for a lovely party and for sharing the SSPS logo, which is much appreciated.

ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHi Joanne. Your corned beef finished off with the glaze sounds delicious--I might have to try that! Thanks for another great party--visited a few interesting posts today. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteCan you believe I have never had a traditional Irish meal for St. Patrick's Day? And I don't know why because it all sounds so good! Gosh, your meal sounds good!!
ReplyDeleteI never had the cabbage growing up but I do remember my mom making corned beef.
DeleteOooh, you should post your pistachio layered dessert. Pistachio things are such a throwback to my childhood, too. :) Thank you for hosting this fun linkup.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I didn't end up making it! I did make a pistachio cake that was pretty good though.
DeleteOh, you make me hungry dear Joanne. Sounds so good...it´s a pitty one cannot taste this things....even with AI impossible...and that is a good thing LOL.
ReplyDeleteHave a good time

It could be very dangerous if we could taste the things we saw on our computer screens. Some are so tempting!
DeleteWow that cake looks good! I had to click over and check out the recipe!!
ReplyDeleteOh good! It can be hard to pick features!
DeleteHave a super day!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI have never made corn beef! We didn't do anything special on St Patrick's day, but I need to remind the boys to read about the life of St. Patrick!

We used to make a much bigger deal of the day when the boys were younger... I think as a homeschooling mom I was always looking for something special and extra to do that gave us a break from our standard work.
DeleteYour St. Paddy’s Day meal sounded fabulous, Joanne! I’ll bet your family enjoyed it. Thank you for hosting and may you have a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteThank you... sadly we didn't get to eat our meal as we lost power on Tuesday and didn't get it back until late last night. We did enjoy the cake I had made ahead of time though!
