What's Up Wednesday: February 2026

It's the last Wednesday of the month and time to link up with Shay and Sheaffer for What's Up Wednesday. I won't have as many photos as usual since they're on my laptop and that is home in CT... I only have the last few days on my phone.

What We're Eating: Evan and I flew to North Carolina for a long weekend and got stuck here since a blizzard hit the east coast and airports shut down (last I heard Providence RI [where we fly into] got 37.5 inches!).

We're Eating things like:

Crepes from Our Crepes and More.  Mine was a tiramisu crepe. Then for dinner my mom had homemade meatballs and sauce with spaghetti, garlic bread, and salad.

Breakfast has consisted of yogurt parfait bowls (sorry some photos are sidways and upside I don't have my laptop with me and Blogger is a bit limited on the phone app) or eggs with sourdough toast.

We had a huge family cookout with chicken, burgers, roasted potatoes, veggies, and salad with pineapple cake, brownie sundaes, and tons of appetizers too.

We had leftovers Monday night and BBQ beef ribs with broccoli and carrots Tuesday night. Tonight we plan on salmon.. sides are undetermined.

What I'm Reminiscing About: We don't get to see my sisters, aunt, nephews and nice often so I've been reminiscing about the last trip Evan and I took down to see everyone in 2023.

What I'm Loving: We spent lots of time with family and friends this month. It's neat to see how everyone has changed in just a couple of years!

What We've Been Up To: Most of our month was quiet with the majority of my days spent at home. Trying to stay warm and dry and out of the snow. This week in North Carolina we've toured the Bellamy mansion, we went to the art museum.

What I'm Dreading: We're supposed to be getting more snow at home these next few days and I'm dreading the possibility we could get stuck here longer.  I mean I love my family but I miss my husband and routine.

What I'm Working On: ALL the art projects, I did some painting, some card making, some scrapbooking. It was a very creative month. I shared all my cards and scrapbook pages in Monday's post

What I'm Excited About: Really I'm just hanging in for SPRING!! My goodness I am ready for nice weather. I fear I won't get to wear flip flops for several months yet.

What I'm Watching/Reading: Devious Maids (Hulu), Tell Me Lies (Hulu), Roofman (HBO), The Rip (Netflix), Once Upon a Time (Disney+), Night Court (Paramount +), Latest season of The Lincoln Lawyer (Netflix)

I read/finished a couple of books traveling and on the plane that I'll have to add to March's book list but I did read 14 other books this month; most of them I really enjoyed a lot!

What I'm Listening to: I've been listening to 2 audiobooks; The Love Haters and Margo's Got Money Troubles. They won't be part of next Thursday's Share Your Shelf but I'll have them in March's round up.

What I'm Wearing: Sweaters, sweatshirts, scarves, layers... all the winter things. Even here in North Carolina it's been cold.

What I'm Doing This Weekend: Flying home, I hopeAlec comes home for spring break on Friday & Sunday we see Ian off on his Vegas trip with his grandfather.

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month: Alec will be home for a whole week, we have Evan's Accepted Student day at Clark, and Alec and I have plans to see Wicked!

What Else is New: Nothing much.

  21. I love cwinter and I am also excited to plant stuff this spring. will you get new clothes? Do you pack away your winter ware?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I pack away winter clothes and take the spring/summer out of the tote in stages-- packing away the heavy weight winter stuff first and taking out longer/warmer spring clothes and slowly working my way to a full warm weather wardrobe.

    2. Very cool. I don't have enough to really pack away BUT, some will sometimes go in a deeper drawer, until spring.

    1. Yep, it was a LOT! The piles are still really huge. We were supposed to get another 12+ inches this weekend but it sounds like it has thankfully turned to rain instead.

  23. The weather certainly has been crazy this winter, hasn't it, Joanne? Here in Utah, we've hardly had any snow...to the point where it's been a problem for winter sports. Then back east and down south, they are getting all the wintery stuff...snow and freezing temps. Here's hoping spring is a little kinder to us all.

  24. Hope you arrived home safely. This last storm was no joke. The airports were crazy and several people were stuck at our resort for longer. Thanks for sharing your books as always- love your recommendations!

  25. I hope y'all didn't end up getting too much more snow! And I need to check out Tell Me Lies... I've heard great things about it!
