It's not the last Wednesday of the month and while I have no idea if Sheaffer and Shay are hosting next week or not I love having this month wrap up to look back on and didn't want to just skip it.

What We're Eating: I just shared a post Monday with all the new recipes we've been trying lately. We've had lots of "old" favorite recipes mixed in too this month.
My favorites this month include:
Shrimp stir-fry over riced cauliflower with homemade pineapple teriyaki sauce.
crustless quiche and salad
Homemade eggplant Parmesan with zoodles and sauce.
My lunch salads-- tossed salad with tuna, seeds (pumpkin and basil in this photo), dressing, & croutons
What I'm Reminiscing About: Thanksgivings when the boys were little and my whole family used to come over. Our meals have gotten so much smaller over the years. (sorry no photos; I was much too busy cooking for 20+).
What I'm Loving: I finished up all the scrapbook pages for our Glacier National Park trip and I am just LOVING how they turned out! I'll have a post sharing ALL the cards and scrapbook pages I mage this month but here's a sneak peek.
What We've Been Up To: It's been a pretty quiet month. I spent a lot of time crafting, painting, and reading. I tackled a couple of new puzzles and we finally went to see Hadestown-- next up on our list is Wicked but that's not until spring.
What I'm Dreading: Snow and ice!
What I'm Working On: I've been working on making all my Christmas cards. I still have a lot to make.
What I'm Excited About: Thanksgiving! Alec will be home next week with one of his new roommates in tow. I'm looking forward to getting to know her better.
What I'm Watching/Reading: America's National Park (Hulu), Will Trent (Hulu), Nobody Wants This season 2 (Netflix), latest season of Ghosts (Paramount+), Ballard (Prime), Leanne (Netflix), Materialists (HBO Max), Runarounds (Prime).
What I've been reading this month:
What I'm Listening to: I've spent so much of my month listening to some really great audiobooks!
What I'm Wearing:
What I'm Doing This Weekend: Buying lots of food for next week.
What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month: Christmas
What Else is New: Nothing much

It looks like a really nice month so far. I don´t mind quiet months and hibernating a bit when the weather is cold. Look at all that you were able to get done being home more- that´s how I look at it when I´m home more (I don´t do the same creative things that you do but I get more of my projects done). Looking forward to seeing your paper crafts from the month!
ReplyDeleteI definitely don't mind the excuse to stay home more often! I've got another 10 or so cards to make and I'm hoping to have them all finished by Friday.
DeleteMy answer for "what I'm doing this weekend" should I have posted today would've been the same exact thing- ha! Need the extra time for the Thanksgiving Week shopping so taking my time on Saturday so I don't miss a thing! Stores will be nuts next week right?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! I try to stay away from stores the week of any major holiday.
DeleteWhat a nice month! I always love seeing your adorable holiday cards. I always keep missing the What's Up posts maybe seeing yours now will help me get my act together.
ReplyDeleteI hope it works for you! I just know I won't be blogging next Wednesday so thought I'd get it out of the way early.
DeleteHow fun that you are hosting Alec's roommate. I wonder if Alec will want to cook? If the roommate is also culinary, that would be fun to cook with them. I bet they would like the Next Gen Chef that I watched on Netflix. It was so good!
ReplyDeleteAlec is making bread for us. I believe his roommate is in baking and pastry arts.
DeleteI really like your outfits!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThat shrimp stir fry looks so good and I do love a crustless quiche.
ReplyDeleteYour scrapbook pages look great and your cards too.
Thank you!
DeleteThe food all looks delicious. Our holidays have gotten smaller as the kids have gotten older too.
ReplyDeleteOurs have gotten smaller mostly because my whole family moved away but we have had older relatives pass away too. I'm sure at some point they'll start getting larger again.
DeleteSnow and ice is dreadful, LOL. But I love that you wear your heart sweater even now. Every day should be a heart day.

Jodie
Aw, thank you!
DeleteThe scrapbook pages are wonderful and the cards are so sweet. I love your painting. Beautiful colors and perspective.
ReplyDelete-Soma
Thank you! I thought that was going to be such an easy painting but I really struggled to feel like I got the colors right.
DeleteAll lovely outfits, Joanne! I make stir fries often as I find it is a good way to eat a lot of veggies and the homemade pineapple Teriyaki sauce is a keeper! Love the fox puzzle --and we loved all of the national park series on TV!
ReplyDeleteThank you! We make some sort of stir fry weekly as my whole family eats them without complaint.
DeleteThere you are making great photo records for you! This post was very autumnal...of course...and I enjoyed seeing the card making too. Take care, Denyse
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteGoodness your food always looks delish! Love all of your outfits!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks!
DeleteHi Joanne, your scrapbooking is very impressive! What a great way to keep momento's of your travels and I also enjoyed seeing your Christmas cards! You're still doing well with your healthy eating too which is something I can relate to as I'm doing the same. Thanks for sharing with us at #WWWhimsy xo
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI have never made eggplant, but gosh your photo makes me want to! I love all the cards and scrapbook pages! I wish I had been able to really get into that, but that's not where my creativity is (see how I didn't say I'm not that creative). How do you like your Halaras?
ReplyDeletehttps://marshainthemiddle.com/
I am really liking my Halara jeans; they are very comfortable.
DeleteI've watched Will Trent a few times. I thought it was so bad. Perhaps it's because I am a huge Karen Slaughter fan.
ReplyDeleteI think it definitely helps that I've never read any of the books. I tend to not like TV series made from books I enjoyed because the shows just never do them justice.
DeleteThat shrimp stir-fry looks delist 😋, and I love how your scrapbook captures Glacier so vividly. Excited for your Thanksgiving plans — sounds like it’ll be a full and happy table!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteI'm obsessed with holiday cards and all you cozy sweaters are so chic!

DeleteYour scrapbook pages look great and your holiday cards are adorable! Love all of your cute and cozy sweaters!
ReplyDeleteJill - Doused in Pink
Thank you so much!
DeleteYou read so many books! The one that caught my eye is The Agathas. Off to google! #WWWHimsy
ReplyDeleteThat was a fun one! I just picked up the second book in the series at our library this week.
DeleteYou lunch salad looks great! My lunch is always the same: a sandwich with some cheese on top. I really should make more of an effort!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks!
DeleteAll of those dishes look delicious, Joanne, especially that shrimp stir fry. Also, our Thanksgiving dinners have gotten much smaller over the years too. I miss the big family gatherings, but am looking forward to Christmas when we will get together with the extended family. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteI love that you got to spend a lot of time reading and crafting. Your scrapbook pages are fabulous as always!
ReplyDeleteI am really loving the extra time at home with zero guilt since I'm "stuck" here!
DeleteThe cards are beyond cute. Love cauli rice too!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you so much!
