Turkey Sausage Pasta Dish
I know this dish may not look and sound like much but it really was quite tasty. We had some fresh turkey sausage links from a meat CSA (community supported agriculture) box we got this year and I wanted to come up with some way to use it that didn't require cheese since there was already feta in the sausage. I read a few pasta/sausage dish recipes and cobbled together one of my own using my favorite ingredients.
Ingredients:
1 onion; diced
6 small sweet peppers; sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
6 mushrooms; sliced
5 feta spinach turkey sausage links (or sausage links of your choice); sliced
1 box pasta
1 small head of broccoli; cut into florets
2 cups chicken broth
1. Saute the onions, peppers, garlic, mushrooms & sausage together.
2. In a separate pan boil the box of pasta according to package directions and drain.
3. Once the sausage is fully cooked and the vegetables are browned, add in the 2 cups of chicken broth and the broccoli florets bring to a boil and cook until broccoli is soft and broth has boiled down some. Make sure to scrape up all the pan drippings from browning the vegetables.
3. Combine drained pasta with the vegetables, sausage, and broth and serve hot.
I know it doesn't look like much but the broth gives the whole dish a really nice flavor. The muted flavor profile allows the sausage to take center stage. We enjoyed it a lot.

DeleteI love one dish meals and sausage is so great for it! I usually cook my pasta along with my meat and veggies, adding in a little more water to the sauce. Yours looks really good!

DeleteThat's understandable. Have you considered getting a small speedlight for your camera with a mini modifier? I use that outside for macro photography but it also works inside too.
DeleteI haven't mostly because I just use my phone but I did try a light box a couple of years ago and that was definitely not working with food photography. So many glares all over..

DeleteThis looks delicious and it also looks like something that our kiddos would love! I'll have to try it without the mushrooms, though, since none of us like those. They would be easy to omit, though!
