What's Up Wednesday in October 2025

It's the last Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for What's Up Wednesday.

What We're Eating:

Sunday: I made burgers, hot dogs, french fries, and tater tots for the boys since my husband was out fishing. I just had a salad

Monday: Chicken fajita rice bowl with all the fixings

Tuesday: Pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw and salad

Wednesday: Homemade chicken Parmesan with spaghetti, sauce, and salad.

Thursday: Shrimp stir fry over rice noodles

Friday: Whole roasted chicken with potatoes and green beans

What I'm Reminiscing About: I haven't been reminiscing about anything lately.

What I'm Loving:  Our weather has been just beautiful this month.

What We've Been Up To: We had a fun month filled with hiking, checking out a cute local bookshop, another college tour, seeing SIX in Providence, going to the immersive Monet exhibit, a delicious date night out at Foxwood's steakhouse,

Nichol's college

What I'm Dreading: Nothing at all right now.

What I'm Working On: I've started scrapbooking our Glacier Park trip and I even started a new painting trying to capture the hues of Bowman lake; I'm not quite there yet but I'm close...

What I'm Excited About: Evan's college applications and both boys' FAFSAs are all done. Now Evan and I just sit back an wait and see about acceptances. He applied to 3 colleges and already has them in order of first, second, and third choice.

What I'm Watching/Reading: Next Gen Chef (Netflix), Benny & Joon (Roku Channel), Bunheads (Hulu), Doc (Netflix), Greenland (HBOMax), I'm rewatching Gilmore Girls (Hulu), We rewatched San Andreas (Netflix), Abbott Elementary (Hulu), Jerry & Marge Go Large (Paramount+), The Woman in Cabin 10 (Netflix), I Like Me; The John Candy Documentary (Prime)-- I loved it! The latest season of The Diplomat (Netflix)-- SO good!, The latest seasons of  9-1-1 (Hulu), 9-1-1 Nashville (Hulu)--though to be honest I'm finding both 9-1-1's too far fetched in their rescue scenarios that I'm rolling my eyes a lot.

I read 10 books again this month.

What I'm Listening to: I've been listening to lots and lots of audiobooks.

What I'm Wearing: October was such a weird month weather-wise. Our temps fluctuated from the 50's to the 80's from one day to the next. I never knew what to wear!

What I'm Doing This Weekend:  We have no plans.

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month: Hadestown, Thanksgiving-- Alec and his roommate are staying with us!

What Else is New: Nothing!

  1. Glad you've had a good weather month and have gotten to enjoy spending time outdoors. Your outfits are all really pretty- I like the tops that show your shoulders and the black flowy sleeve top. You've gone to some fun events. What an exciting time for Evan!

  2. What did you think of the Monet? We were so disappointed by the Van Gogh. It was way overpriced and not very good.

    1. We did spend 2 hours at the Monet exhibit so I didn't feel like the cost was crazy high, but that said, I actually preferred the Van Gogh exhibit.

    1. Alec warned me last spring that there were LOTS of great shows we needed to make sure to score tickets to this year and he was right. It's been an amazing line up of shows this year.

    1. Maybe! I try to keep the outline in my drafts folder for the upcoming month and add to it as the month goes on so I don't have to write quite so much all at the end.

    1. Thank you; I was kicking myself for not taking my "real" camera hiking with us that day but my phone did a great job capturing the heron and the trees.

    1. I had no idea we even had a local bookstore but I will definitely be back. I bet you guys would enjoy The Diplomat but each season does end on a cliffhanger.... which I both love and hate.

It's hard when the weather changes from day to day, but at least then you get some variety, LOL.

  12. We've had gorgeous weather, although this week is chilly and rainy. Still feels like fall so I don't mind. We enjoyed the John Candy documentary too. Good luck to your son on the application process! We haven't watched the latest season of The Diplomat yet but I loved the first two, and anything Keri Russell is in. The Americans was one of my favorite shows. Have a nice week!

  13. Good work on the painting!! I liked The Woman in Cabin 10. I had read the book so I knew what was going on, but I loved seeing Keira Knightly in the role.
