Styling the Colors of Fall with Ageless Style

It's the third Thursday of the month and time for another ageless style challenge. This month Jenn picked Fall colors! In fall I tend to reach fore more neutral colors; tones of brown, orange, green, red. But it has still been rather warm here so I'm trying to sprinkle those colors in using lighter weight fabrics. 

I opened my latest Stitch Fix box to find this adorable hooded crochet sweater and it has been perfect for this in between time. 

 

 

I paired the sweater with a white tank top and some light mossy green ankle length pants. I'm still clinging onto my flip flops though. You can adjust the cinching on the sweater in the front, though to be honest I haven't adjusted it at all from when I took it out of the box.  

 

I love the cute hood detail in the back. I mean I never wear the hood but I do like it. 

 

I've also paired it with my tan linen pants for a neutrals look.

    I like your sweater! I really like hoods on sweaters. I feel like it´s a cute, fun and cozy detail. I have a few sweaters with them and I like them. Cute outfit :).

    You look good in the neutral colors! I like your lightweight sweater which seems perfect for this time of the year. We have finally gotten some cooler weather, so I've been able to wear a few sweaters before we take off for Florida in a few weeks to spend the winter. My fall colors tend to be similar to my summer colors!

      Thank you! I'm pretty sure if I spent fall and winter in a warmer climate my wardrobe would be pretty much the same year round too.

    I have a pair of pants very similar to yours! I need to wear them with some of my tan sweaters when it cools off! I am looking forward to the cooler temps and enjoy the mornings here before it gets hot.

      Most mornings are quite cool but we're still warming up nicely by late afternoon. This is the perfect time of year weather wise up here.

    I love the sweater top with the hoodie. I just found one for the first time at Goodwill. I love it. It is gray. I am still rocking my sandals and flip flops. It is 90 degrees in my area. I love the outfit with the khaki pants. :)

    When I think of Fall I think of bright colors like orange, red and brown. So I was surprised to see neutral colours. But they look lovely on you, and also I realized I find neutrals more calming. So you've made me realize I can wear more neutrals too during Fall : )

    It goes great with both kinds of pants.
    I can't wear any hoods at all myself because I wear my very long hair open and it never sits right with a hood (unless I put it in the hood which looks weird ;-)).

Share Our Lives: My Frequent Grocery Store Buys

It's the second Monday and time for Share Our Lives. The monthly link up where we share snippets of our lives. This month we're talking about some of our most frequent grocery store buys.  I don't know why but I find I am rather fascinated by what people buy at the grocery store. I tend to check out the carts of those around me as we shop too.  I've noticed our groceries change every few years. I remember when the boys were little I'd buy 3 gallons of milk a week! I had big milk drinkers. Even my husband would order milk to drink when we went out to restaurants...  now weirdly no one really ever drinks it so I don't buy any!     But since this is all about the things we DO buy and those things that we buy frequently I thought I'd share those things that seem to ALWAYS be on my list now. 15 Family Restaurant Games

When my boys were little and we'd take them out to eat I kept a small bag of toys in the car to grab on our way into any restaurant.  That way they would be entertained and a bit quieter while we enjoyed our meal. Now that the boys are older we don't keep a bag of toys handy but we do have few games we use to keep the boys occupied if they start getting bored or squirmy while we're waiting for our food or our check. While there are many phone apps, portable gaming systems and electronic games that could occupy my kids we prefer to use the time together at restaurants to connect with one another and so we tend to play games like: Hangman--   any restaurant that has paper place mats works well for this.  We take turns picking  a word and drawing our hangman stand then take turns calling out letters and seeing if we can solve the puzzle.   Tic Tac Toe-- This works best with pen on paper place mats but we have played making a grid with butter knives ...

21 Pilots The Clancy Tour Breach 2025

Last Tuesday, September 30th, Evan and I had tickets to see 21 Pilots in concert in Hartford Ct. The show was at an indoor/outdoor venue called the Xfinity Center (not to be confused with the other indoor/outdoor Xfinitiy Center in Massachusetts). We had never been to the Xfinity Center and had no idea what to expect. Reviews online were not favorable but we really enjoyed it. I'll liberally sprinkle photos in around all the details, feel free to skip them and just look- most of the details are for me to remember anyway!  I wore comfy clothes with large pockets so I didn't need to bring a bag with me. I carried just my phone (with my credit card tucked inside), keys, and ear plugs. We were surprised to find ourselves so close to the stage! Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Growing pains aired in 1985 which put me around age 8 and it stayed on the air until I was 15 or so; I'm pretty sure most people in my age group watched mostly for Kirk Cameron and all his antics.  I still have a soft spot for family sit-coms!  The Facts of Life aired when I was just 2  and stayed on the air until I was 11 so I'm sure the episodes I remember so fondly were either some of the later ones and then reruns shown later on when I was old enough to watch from the beginning.
