Share Our Lives: My Favorite Seasonal Activities
This month for Share Our lives we're talking about 5 things we like to do each season. I think this is going to be so hard to narrow down to just 5 things!
There are some things I like to do in any season-- like reading, hiking, cooking/baking, taking a trip, scrapbooking, card making, painting, etc. but sometimes HOW I do these activities varies a lot from season to season. In fact we are currently hiking in Glacier National park and loving it.
5 Things I like to do in summer:
1. Eat/ read outside on the deck or patio
2. Go kayaking
3. Go out for ice cream! Our local stands are only open in summer so we take advantage while we can.
4. Take photos of the beautiful flowers in the garden/bring flowers inside to enjoy.
5. Celebrate my birthday: go shopping with my mom, spend a weekend away with my husband (usually in Maine!)
5 Things I like to do in fall:
1. Watch the leaves change colors & take "fall drives."
2. Take on some more strenuous hikes once the weather cools off
3. Go apple picking, bake up apple pies, apple crisp, chocolate covered apples, and all the apple things.
4. Celebrate Thanksgiving and make our favorite leftover pie.
5. Decorate the house- I decorate the house for fall in late September and then we decorate for Christmas at the end of November. It's probably the only season I do so much decorating!
5 Things I like to do in winter:
1. Work on puzzles
2. read by the fireplace or wood stove
3. Go snowshoeing
4. Take pictures of the snowy landscape
5. vacation someplace warm like Hawaii, the Caribbean, or Florida
5 Things I like to do in spring:
1. Get plants for the front steps or to hang around the patio.
2. Watch the trees and plants come alive; particularly on our hikes which we up in frequency as winter ice and snow melts.
3. Celebrate our anniversary; preferably with a weekend up north where we hike.
4. After being cooped up inside all winter long spring is the time of year I like to take more day trips and see some local sights.
5. Go bike riding-- admittedly this was something I used to do every spring with the boys when they were younger and then we hadn't ridden bikes in YEARS but on our last Acadia trip this trip we rented Ebikes and had a fabulous time. We've already vowed to rent them again next time we visit somewhere where it's an option.
I hope you'll join us next month when we talk about our go to snacks.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much! That is one of my all time favorite puzzles.
DeleteYou're getting me in the mood for fall! I need to do some apple recipes for sure. The only one I'm not into is the puzzles! Lol - inside joke!
ReplyDeleteI’m with you, I love every season and love getting the most out of it! Oh, those leaves!
ReplyDeleteI have the National Parks puzzle on my Amazon list! Might have to add in that tree moss one. Neither for me... I like puzzles in theory lol, in reality they stress me out. But my cousin likes puzzles & she loves tree moss & the National Parks!
ReplyDeleteI don't cook as much as I used to for apple season, as most recipes have too much sugar for me. I love spring, as it's my favorite time of year. I agree with most of your seasonal activities, except winter. I'm not a winter person at all! #MMBC
