How to Beat the Heat with Ageless Style

It's the third Thursday of the month and time for another ageless style challenge. This month Amy picked beat the heat for our challenge.

 Typically I turn to sleeveless tops and shorts when it's real hot out. 

 

I love a good halter top with shorts and sandals! It's my favorite summer "go to" look.

    I like the look of halter tops but do not like having to wear strapless bras! You must have found a brand that you like and that holds things up well :). Your outfits are all so cute!

    I love all of your tops - so cute! This has been a weird summer here in Minnesota. It's either been humid and hot or cold and rainy. Yesterday it was 64 degrees in the middle of the day! I was in a sweatshirt because it felt so damp!

      I feel like ours has been like that too; either really hot and sunny or cloudy, rainy, and cool with not much in between. We've been in the midst of a heatwave this week but it's supposed to storm later today and break.

      Aw, thank you! Funny enough I really do not like skirts, unless they are maxi skirts but they can get hot in the extreme hot weather.

    Tank tops, shorts, and flip flops are the perfect summer outfit. The only problem is when I go inside. Then, I’m too cold from the AC. But, I’m glad to have it!!

    When it's very hot I turn to knee length dresses. Not too long, because then I got hot. And I prefer dresses that are kind of roomy so they don't cling to me.

    Oh, I used to love wearing halter tops. But now I would have to wear a strapless bra (probably should have 'back then' too!!) and my strapless bras are not comfy. I just love how your halters look with your shorts. Super cute.

    I picked up 2 pairs of silky-ish cargo shorts during Prime Days and they are very easy to wear, lightweight and cool. I think they will get a lot of love the rest of the summer.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? Each year near the end of December/ beginning of January I share the top 10 posts of the year but this year, in particular, I have noticed some much older posts that are still bringing in lots of pageviews and thought it would be fun to look back and see a top 10 list of all time.  I started my blog in June of 2012 and while so many of my first posts were long blocky, chunky rambles without any real photos of us and our family I just can't bring myself to delete any of them as I really do enjoy looking back and seeing how my blog has change and grown over time. Share 4 Somethings in August; 2025

Since the last Saturday of the month is tomorrow it's just about time for Share 4 Somethings with Jenn. As always we're sharing some things we loved, some things we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of .  Some things I've loved:  We've had lots of delicious food and ice cream this month.     We loved playing cornhole with my sister in law and nephew one night.        We loved exploring the botanical gardens with my mom. We loved spending time with my husband's family to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. Some things I've learned:  I learned that I won a summer reading prize through my local library and in doing so I also learned that there is a cute new bakery in the next town over! Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. It's the last Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for What's Up Wednesday. Another month that has completely flown by!  What We're Eating:  This has been one of those weeks where I am just throwing dinner together each night based on what I can find around the house.
