Favorites and Highlights One Sentence A Day in June 2025
We had such a fun June and it feels like the month just flew by! We did manage to pack a whole lot of fun into our month though.
1. So thankful Ian took it upon himself to fix our front walk! A windy cold day but Ian worked on the front walk anyway and Evan and I headed out for hike. 11,449 steps.

2. So thankful for a wonderful first day of vacation. Alec, my husband and I headed to Southwest Harbor Maine stopping in both Kittery and Freeport Maine along the way. 9,961 steps.
3. So thankful for perfect biking weather (and the invention of ebikes). After a delicious breakfast at our B&B we headed into Bar Harbor to pick up our ebike rentals for the day so we could explore Acadia's carriage roads and then the town before heading back to our B&B to rest and get dinner. 20,003 steps.
4. So thankful we had such beautiful clear skies for these phenomenal views. After breakfast we drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain for the summit views then hiked Ponobscot mountain, ending our day at The Little Fern restaurant for a delicious dinner. 20,108 steps.
5. Today I was so incredibly thankful for bug spray that kept me from being eaten alive! We decided to ferry over to Great Cranberry Island and check it out before resting/showering/changing and spending one last evening in Bar Harbor. 20,363 steps.
6. Thankful that traffic wasn't bad at all and we made good time. It was time to head back home but we stopped for one last lobster roll and serving of ice cream before we left Maine. 3,778 steps.
7. Thankful that I got everything on my to do list done before it started raining. Up early for grocery shopping then Evan and I hiked & ran to the library before the rains came through in the afternoon. 16,038 steps.
8. Thankful for extra time to read today! A quiet day at home reading, doing laundry, making granola bars, etc. 6,241 steps.
9. Thankful that I was able to get some passes and things settled for our Montana trip. Gym with my mom, walking the river trail with my mom and Evan, then I spent my afternoon cleaning. 13,892 steps.

10. Thankful for quick and easy manicures with Colorstreet nail wraps! Yoga with my mom, then home to clean while it rained all day long but on the plus side I finished 2 books! 7,405 steps.
11. Thankful for fresh, local grown fruits. Gym with my mom, then I talked the boys into picking strawberries, I ran a few errands and spent my afternoon on the deck working on the blog and reading. 11,123 steps.
12. So thankful for such a productive day. I was up early and made Cole slaw, quiche, homemade strawberry jam, etc. before heading to my craftroom to make father's day cards. I spent my afternoon reading and blogging. 7,128 steps.

13. So thankful that the Father's day gifts I ordered arrived in time today. Gym with my mom, hiking with Evan, then we ended the night getting ice cream from Bucks FOR dinner! 17,800 steps.

14. Up early and at the grocery store, spent the rainy day looking for more colleges to tour with Evan and watching TV with my husband. 6,755 steps.
15. So thankful for a relaxing afternoon of reading. Father's day was pretty quiet with the older two boys off at work, my husband went fishing with Ian once he got back home and both Evan and I headed out hiking. 13,115 steps.

16. So thankful it was warm enough to wear shorts today! Gym with my mom, finished my book on the deck during breakfast, then I worked on making some more granola while washing bedding and spent my afternoon folding clothes, remaking beds, and walking to the mailbox. 10,200 steps.
18.Thankful to see our "resident baker" baking once again! Shocking that I woke to rain (not) but I had to get out early to get gas, get my haircut, go to the library and swing by the post office. I spent my afternoon working on more bedding/laundry and watching (taste testing!) Alec's latest macarons-- strawberry matcha and walking to the state park with Evan. 10,574 steps.
20. So thankful my husband talked me into doing groceries after dinner so we could sleep in over the weekend! Gym with my mom, hiking with Evan, home to watch the Price is Right (a local lady we know was on & won a trip to Sweden!), then spent my afternoon reading and working on the blog. 13,599 steps.

21. So thankful for an absolutely fabulous last minute date night! I worked on the blog, read in the sun, went for a walk with Evan, then Alec and I went to a local art fair and later that afternoon my husband and I headed to Foxwoods for a date night out. 13, 566 steps.

22. So thankful the clouds rolled in in the afternoon; it was so HOT at the party but the clouds made it feel just a tad cooler. My husband and I headed out on a kayak ride in the morning before it got too hot then we had a graduation party for my niece and nephew. 7,249 steps.
23. So very thankful for air conditioning today! Another scorcher of a day but I went to the gym with mom then spent my day inside cleaning. 10,602 steps.
24. So thankful for good music to keep me entertained while cleaning. Another hot day (at one point my phone said 104!) but I used my time to clean more of the house, water our lawn, read my book, and other inside/sitting down/not sweating activities! 8,422 steps.
25. Thankful for some company while I ran errands. Gym with my mom then we went and ran errands after breakfast (library, gas station, Target, Kohl's, the post office) and I spent my afternoon reading, blocking, and watering the lawn. 10,472 steps.

26. Thankful for the rain that broke our heat wave today! With Alec, Ian, and my husband at work and Evan at his friend's house I had the whole house to myself for much of the day; I finished cleaning, did laundry, worked on my latest painting, read my book and worked on some scrapbook layouts. 6,866 steps
27. So thankful for the beautiful weather today; not too hot, not too cold, not raining.. it was perfect. Gym with my mom, hiking with Evan, a lot of time spend soaking up the sun and reading my book. 14,198 steps.
28. So thankful I changed into pants and long sleeves to hike; the mosquitoes were brutal. I spent a large portion of my day reading and working on the blog then my husband, Evan, and I went hiking around lunch. 9.322 steps.
29. So thankful for a beautiful day filled with making family memories. I spent my morning in the kitchen making pickled cucumbers and radishes as well as a quiche, homemade dressing, and salad before heading out to lunch with Evan and my husband at The Vanilla Bean (saying Hi to Alec), and home to visit with my parents, nephews, and brother-- we even helped his youngest do a little fishing off our dock. 8,094 steps.
30. So thankful for the absolutely beautiful weather we had today. Gym with my mom, home to make pesto, cut up fruit, get dinner all prepped, then I read my book, ate breakfast, and spent my afternoon reading and blogging, and relaxing in the air conditioning while Ian was living his best life deep sea fishing with friends. 13,613 steps.

Looks like June was a great month! If I had your view off my deck I'm not sure I'd ever leave my chair! What a beautiful setting.

DeleteI really want to try an e-bike! I also now realize I have to make strawberry freezer jam again this summer! What a full month. It seems so quintessentially New England to me, too!

They were delicious; you couldn't really taste much of the match though. The strawberry frosting was the predominate flavor.
DeleteI have not heard of pickling radishes. We make our own pickled cucumbers with onions. Where do you find all of your hiking trails? Thank you for sharing.

ReplyDeleteYes we can.. though I hardly ever do. It is rather weedy and mucky so I mostly just float on a tube or enjoy being on the lake in my kayak.

DeleteCatching up from last week before I visit everyone this week. Stop the presses....wait...strawberries on a grilled sandwich? How was it? That bike ride looks amazing as does all the food. Those rocks lakeside would be my grandkids dream...they are into finding "gems" as they call them. Ooohh on the homemade sauces, especially the teriyaki one. I sometimes make homemade BBQ sauce but don't can it. I should consider doing that sometime. Those macarons look amazing. Thank you for sharing your month.
