Currently in July 2025

It's the first Wednesday of the month and time for the currently link up with Jenn. In July we're talking about what we're currently loving, savoring, celebrating, remembering, and trying.

Loving: Linen! Linen and gauze are my two favorite summer fabrics but this summer in particular I have so many linen pieces I am just LOVING. I got these aqua linen pants in my stitch fix box and I wear them pretty much any time they are clean. I love the color!

I also found these adorable linen blend harem pants on the Old Navy site as I was trying to order another pair of wide leg black linen pants (since mine have a tiny pinhole starting on the leg) and I just love the style so much. I thought the tie around the ankle would drive me nuts like joggers do but they never rode up on my leg once all day.

I haven't had a pair of tan linen pants in years since I'm pretty picky about them; I don't like them lined but I don't want to them to be see through either but I found a pair I loved at the Gap the other week when my husband and I were at Foxwoods for our date night out and I wore them the very next day.

Savoring: All the fresh fruits and veggies we have available to us this time of year. We've picked up 2 agriculture boxes in the past two weeks and have enjoyed freshly picked strawberries, homemade jam, cucumber salads, and in another week or two blueberries will be ready for picking.

Celebrating: This weekend we're celebrating the 4th of July and next week I'm celebrating my birthday! Though my mother in law already bought me an early birthday gift at the craft fair we attended just over a week and a half ago. Aren't they pretty? I love that they are hand painted and so lightweight.

Remembering: As I was writing up my monthly musings posts last week & my Share Our Lives post for the 14th I was remembering all the fun family trips we've been on! We are so fortunate that we managed to travel so much with the boys.

Trying: We've been trying lots of new recipes. We made a sausage/bacon/broccoli pasta dish that was so yummy.

Alec also got us to try some rice noodles with our steak stir-fry (sorry I forgot to take photos!), and he made us some matcha/strawberry macarons to try.

I also tried this toast/cottage cheese/honey breakfast that Rebecca Jo mentioned and even not being a huge honey or cottage cheese fan I really liked it a lot.

  5. Yes to linen and gauze! I really want to try something from Quince and it might be linen shorts but pants would be more practical probably.
I need to dig out our old travel photos. Many are printed out and some are digital in a variety of places. I am not too organized in that regard. I think Tom has all the digital ones.
    Have a great Wednesday!

  14. Love the linen pants. The food all looks delicious, and there is nothing like fresh local strawberries. I've had them on vacation in California and when we lived in England, and the store bought variety just can't compete.

    1. I completely agree; store bought fruit seems so good.. until we have fresh local varieties available and then I realize they don't quite measure up.
