Talking About it Tuesday #70

We finally had a fairly normal week last week so I managed to visit everyone that linked up at last week's party. We actually had a pretty rainy week so I had lots of extra time at home. It was much needed though and I felt like I got a lot of things done. I hope that all the mom's out there had a lovely Mother's day weekend (if you live in the US!) and that those who find the holiday tough found it just a bit easier this year.

    I don't dislike rainy days (unless I wanted to do something fun outdoors.... and when they happen days on end!) generally. Our area looks like Ireland right now with everything vibrantly green due to rain so I can't complain about it too much!! I'm glad you got a lot done inside. Have a great day!

    The desert needs rain horribly bad! I know that we live in the desert, but the cacti still need a good drink. Plus, when it is too dry, that can bring fires.

    We have been enjoying rain all week as well and everything looks lush and green. My garden certainly loves the rain. Thanks so much for hosting every week. Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Louisville, Kentuckey Girls' Trip days 3 & 4

 Sunday morning we had a later start to our day, deciding to meet Amy at Biscuit Belly at 10:30. I ordered sweet tea, a fruit/yogurt/granola bowl, and some Bonuts (donuts made from biscuit dough) that came with bourbon cream cheese frosting.   From there we took two cars to head out shopping; stopping at 2 different stores.  After shopping we stopped at BoomBozz to get some appetizers to share then Amy headed home while the rest of us piled into Maria's car and headed out sightseeing in downtown Louisville. We stopped by a park to look at all the bridges. Then headed to the Louisville Slugger Museum to see the giant bat.   From there we headed back to the rental and hung out until it was time for Tanya to go to the airport. Maria and I drove her while Amy hung out back at the house with Marilyn and Jenn. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Louisville, Kentuncky Girls Trip days 1 & 2

** Before I get into my trip recap I have been hearing from so many of my subscribers that they aren't receiving my emails. I have no idea what is going on but I've noticed that I'm not getting many emails from those blogs I subscribe to either. Things like Mailchimp, Feedly, etc. (from what I am reading and understanding) are getting blocked a lot more by email platforms and their spam filters. I did try restarting my entire email campaign last night... can you let me know if you see a difference?** Thank you!    Last year a group of bloggers and I met up in Nashville and had such a great time that we decided to make it an annual trip. Share Our Lives: Celebrating My Birthday

This month for Share Our lives we're talking about how we celebrate/spend our birthdays! I typically have a couple of different ways that I celebrate my birthday each year.   My mom and I spend the day (either on or near my actual birthday) shopping and we go out to lunch. It's such a fun day. She always takes my gifts home to wrap and then comes back later usually with some cheesecake or something. It works out well that my birthday falls in the middle of summer since she'll be up here camping each summer plus we hit some really wonderful sales each year.    last year's haul July 2020 we had a small party on our patio My favorite birthday tradition is a new one that my husband and I just started several years ago; we now take little day or weekend trips to celebrate our birthdays.  It has been so fun exploring new little towns and areas!
