What's Up Wednesday in April
It's the last Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for What's Up Wednesday.
What We're Eating: I just got home from Kentucky on Monday night and today I'm heading to pick up Alec from college for the summer so it's been a lot of "fend for yourself" nights around here! I did an awful job taking photos of my food on vacation too so I just have a couple meals to share.

mini cinnamon/sugar Bonuts with bourbon cream cheese frosting (we all shared these) |

My one and only sweet tea of the vacation- it really hit the spot! |
Fruit and granola from Biscuit Belly |
a grilled vegetable Cuban sandwich |
What I'm Reminiscing About: How on Earth has this guy turned 21 this month?!
What I'm Loving: These ladies and I had the BEST time in Louisville this past weekend! I'll have a full recap up on the blog next week.
What We've Been Up To: Evan and I have been out hiking and walking anytime it wasn't raining (or snowing) this month. We also had my brother's whole family over for dinner one night. We got Alec mostly packed up and spent an afternoon in Providence with him. But the highlight of the month was definitely being in Louisville for the girls' trip.

Sounds like a fantastic April, and how fun to catch up with blogger friends! I can't wait to read the recap. Ruth@playworkeatrepeat

DeleteOh I cannot wait to read about your girls trip- looked amazing and you are all some of my fave ladies around! Sounds like a great month- so glad the weather is finally cooperating!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you so much Holly! Your name came up a time or two and everyone had such great things to say about you. Your blog is one that we all read pretty regularly!
DeleteYou've had a busy month- I felt like mine was, too. Definitely a highlight was meeting ya'll (had to say it (I don't use that word IRL!))!
ReplyDeleteI don't usually use the word y'all either but it does slip out when I'm in the south.
DeleteThose photos from your trip are beautiful! Can't wait to read more about it next week!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteLooks like April was good to you! Such great photos. I miss playing cards with family. Maybe I should organize a group!
ReplyDeleteOh you really should!
DeleteSounds like a great month! Can't believe Alec is done with school so early. I love all your tops!
ReplyDeleteIt is really early! But they do have a much shorter winter break than most colleges.
DeleteYour girls trip looks like a blast & those bronuts look amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Those bronuts were delicious and I am not usually a donut fan at all.
DeleteYou were right next to me - literally .... I walk every day at lunch from my office to that bat ... & the walking paths downtown. Hope you enjoyed Louisville!
ReplyDeleteNo way! Then you live really close to Amy from Coffee and Cocktails at the Casa. She couldn't get the time off to come on a trip with us so we took our trip to her.
DeleteI recognize that baseball bat from when I was in Louisville. What a fun meet up although other than Jennifer I don't recognize the other bloggers. Your food looks amazing, and I love all your outfits.
ReplyDeleteMarilyn blogs at Marilyn Bridges, Amy blogs at Coffee and Cocktails at the Casa, Tanya blogs at The Other Side of the Road and Maria blogs over at Memorable Moments & Modest Missives.
DeleteIt is so much easier when everyone fends for themselves when life is busy!
ReplyDeleteI had to Google what Bonuts were as they look amazing! What a fantastic idea! Yum!
From what I've seen on other blogs it looks like all you ladies had a brilliant time in Louisville!
How lovely to have Alec home, your parents visiting and your brother too!
It should be lots of fun being surrounded by family this summer.
DeleteBONUTS???? OMG. I want some.
ReplyDeleteDon't they look so yummy? I just could not resist and they were oh so worth the calories.
DeleteWhat a cute throwback photos. I love playing cards, and boardgames! I still don't receive any mails from you with a new post notification. I'm sorry I'm a bit absent, but that's why.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThat is a good month! Was that a blogger get together? I recognise one of the women! Love the colourful lanterns and yes, how did our kids get so old??
ReplyDeleteYes, it was a blogger get together! 4 of us met up last year and this year we had 6!
DeleteLook at that adorable picture of your newborn son! The sweetest days and they are so fleeting. I've done a terrible job of snapping pictures lately. I need a new 'real' camera and my phone takes crummy pics so I'm not super motivated. How fun to have family all around you for the summer! That's so special. I'll look forward to reading your KY recap. Sounds like it was a blast.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you! I'm so thankful my phone takes great photos because I have gotten so slack at having my "real" camera on hand.
DeleteAnother wonderful month for you Joanne. Time certainly flies. My daughter turned 44 in April and my grandson turned 11. How can this be??? Thanks for sharing at #WWWhimsy and wishing you a wonderful May. Sue L #TeamWhimsy x
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteCan’t wait for the recap. 14 books!!! Wow. Do you use Libby or do you buy them?
ReplyDeletewww.rsrue.blogspot.com
I either use Libby or get them through my local library. I very, very rarely buy books since I do tend to read them so fast.
DeleteWhat a great month you've had. It's fun to have family visits and get-togethers. #TeamWWWhimsy
