Weigh in Wednesday: The Month We Were Fully At Home

I can't believe it's already time for another weigh-in Wednesday! I feel like I just wrote up my summary from last month.

I weighed in at 163.5 (or 6?-- I don't really remember the number after the decimal point and I'm too lazy to find my phone and look it up right now) last Thursday (when I wrote this post). This means that in the last month I was able to shed 2 lbs.  I'm pretty happy with that. I mean I always want to see those numbers go down but at the same time I really do love to eat and have not managed to give up my sweets entirely.

I do think I ate much better this month than last and a large part of that is that we've been eating at home.  I haven't really remembered to snap many photos of my dinner but I have taken quite a few photos of my breakfasts, lunches, and snacks.

salad with chicken and peaches and croutons

I've moved my fruit/yogurt/granola bowl to the afternoons for the most part

I made a mini Caesar salad over my regular weekly salad and not just lettuce

Breakfasts have been a lot of eggs and I allowed myself to try some of Alec's cinnamon swirl bread

A shrimp Caesar salad

I liked it so much I ate it 2 days in a row!

A spinach omelet with more of Alec's homemade bread

Tuna sandwich on pumpernickel with veggies and sun chips

Scrambled eggs with fresh veggies on pumpernickel; my new favorite breakfast!

Another veggie omelet with butternut squash fries.

Shrimp stir-fry with green beans and riced cauliflower

Leftover green beans with eggs and a light whole grain English muffin

I've been craving peanut butter so I had a small scoop with my apple

Egg sandwich on an English muffin with clementines

Peanut butter and homemade jam on an English muffin with apples

I'm still not working out consistently 5 days a week like I would like but I have been much better about mixing up my variety of workouts.  This past month I've hiked, kayaked, lifted weights, RUN on the treadmill, squeezed in a couple of stability ball workout, enjoyed a few Move With Nicole Pilates videos, and tried to ease some lower back pain with a few Yoga with Adrienne videos.

Hopefully I keep it up!  We do have 3 cookouts this month so I'm trying to be extra good during the week and use my points over the weekends but I know I really need to up my exercise.

  2. Great job! I find it so frustrating that if I go down 2 pounds, the next day I go back up 2 pounds!

    1. I do that too but I've been noticing that my highs aren't as high and the lows are dipping into lower numbers so I know I'm heading in the right direction.

    1. It takes a little bit of practice for it to become habit but once you do it's much easier to keep it going.

  18. So many great meal ideas. Your post reminded/prompted me to track today. I am trying harder again. Just saw some pictures of myself and feel like I look so thick. I don't remember being THICK in the past. And I have a tummy I've picked up that was never a real issue. Ugh. I continue to enjoy your Greek yogurt, fresh fruit and granola idea. But will have to check out some of these new breakfasts.

Atta girl!! You look terrific and are healthy and strong.

  19. You go girl! I am struggling to workout because it is so hot. My workouts are usually just walking through my neighborhood. 90+ degree temps and humidity that ranges between 50-90% are killer. Diet wise I'm doing ok. Need to cut out a few things to start making progress again.

    1. Ugh that is definitely tough in the summer. Heat makes me feel so unmotivated to do anything.
