Currently... May 2023

It's the first Wednesday of the month and time for the currently link up with Jennifer from Overflowing with Thankfullness.  This month we're sharing what we're currently loving, picturing, craving, wishing, and collecting.

Loving: my morning workout routine; just a few weeks ago I started working out on our treadmill as soon as Alec leaves for school and I have been doing a cardio walk/jog circuit for 30 minutes.  I watch an episode of Caribbean Life or Bahama Life and it's a fun way to pass the time (and works so much better than trying to read while running).

Picturing: I've been picturing myself in all my new summer clothes and can not wait for the warm, sunny weather to stay!  I've been making them work for now with cardigans, jean jackets, and layers.

My new tank top

A new jumpsuit

my new skirt

Craving:  Some sun, sand, and beach and a great excuse to use my 3 new bathing suits I've just bought.

Wishing: Alec lots of luck; we've started searching for colleges for him and I know he's already feeling so overwhelmed! We're loving all his choices so far though so that's great.  Secretly I'm hoping he'll pick (and get accepted!) to the college we just toured this weekend-- it's the only one in the world with a 4 year degree for the area he wants to study and it's just a short 45 minute drive away so he's close by if he needs anything but far enough away to be on his own.  Only time will tell!!  It's exciting.

Collecting: Even more Stampin' stuff! I've added quite a bit to my card making collection this past month and can't wait to dig into all my new products and see what I can whip up.

  1. I hope that the college decisions go well for you guys! It's great that Alec knows what he wants to study. The school you toured sounds fantastic for him. Three new bathing suits- you do need some sun and sand!!

    1. I think he made quite the impression on the whole team of chefs as he seemed to be the only kid touring that asked a ton of questions and spoke really confidently about what he wants to study and asked targeted questions about what the program entails-- I'm sure it didn't hurt that he naturally slid into all sorts of culinary speak too. I hadn't intended to buy so many suits but I ordered 3 from Modlily and really liked them all!

    1. Thank you! I don't know how it is in Canada but there is so much pressure put on the kids over college that I am making sure to not stress and keep reminding him that there really is no wrong choice that he could make that could not be undone and just to take it all one step at a time.

    1. Aw, thank you! It's a bit easier I guess when there aren't nearly as many colleges to choose from (though that does seem to make them much more competitive to get into!).

  6. You are right, college is going to be exciting (and hopefully some scholarships to go along with it!). Still trying to book vacations! Cannot believe we are having such a hard time deciding on our early June one!

Your new summer clothes look fabulous! I too can't wait for warmer weather. We had a few nice days this spring so far but most days were much too cold.
Good luck to Alec making his decision and hopefully he will decide to stay close by.

    1. Yes, we had a few day (maybe 2 or 3) that were so warm and sunny and perfect and then it has been pretty cold and rainy ever since.

  10. It sounds like you have a good morning routine on your treadmill, watching TV must make the workout so much easier.
I got a few new outfits for the summer and I can't wait to wear them either.
Good luck to Alec with college. x

  14. I remember those days of touring college campuses. It was lots of fun because I went to a commuter college. I could never walk on a treadmill and watch tv. It always made me dizzy...weird, right?

    1. I commuted to college too so seeing and learning more about campus life sounds fun (but I knew it was NOT for me). Alec is waaay more social than all the rest of us combined.

  15. Gosh, that college sounds perfect for Alec, but it's good to let him decide (with a little nudging of course, haha)

    1. Absolutely! I have spent years assuring my boys that there are not usually wrong choices when it comes to their future; almost all choices can be corrected or changed if they find it's not a good fit. So I'm reminding Alec to just enjoy the process, check out all the possible choices, and keep an open mind.

  26. I LOVE your jumpsuit! So cute and perfect for summer! And I actually went to college very close to home but lived on campus, and it was really the best of both worlds. (This is also how my bffl ended up getting lowkey adopted by my family, ha!) :D

    1. Thank you! I have a real "thing" for jumpsuits. I commuted to college and wanted no part whatsoever of living on campus.. but I knew Alec (out of all my boys) could totally embrace that whole college life experience. He's even looked into study abroad programs already!
