What's Up Wednesday: April 2022

Hey, look at me actually posting a What's Up Wednesday on a Wednesday this year!  Now that I'm back to blogging 6 days a week I figured why not?! LOL.  I hope you love these little monthly wrap up posts as much as I do.  Today I'm joining up with Sheaffer and Shay for a little look at what's up.
What We're Eating This Week:
Sunday:  Ian picked out take out pizza, French fries, salad, and chocolate/ peanut butter trifle cake for his birthday.

Monday: Chicken tetrazzini in the crock pot (we love Momfessionals recipe)

Tuesday: Grilled chicken with BBQ macaroni salad and tossed salad

Wednesday: Shake and Bake pork chops with roasted potatoes and broccoli

Thursday: Weight Watcher's lasagna with salad

Friday: Air fried philly cheesesteak rolls with salad (a new recipe we're trying out)

Saturday: Shredded BBQ chicken with rice and zucchini/squash

What I'm Reminiscing About: Oh my... how could I not be reminiscing about this guy who just turned 18 this week!  I mean... how on Earth have I become a mother to an adult??  That time just flew right by.

What I'm Loving:  Alec came in 4th in the state for his SkillsUSA baking challenge!

What We've Been Up To: Hiking, playing games, a trip to Newport Rhode Island for a seal watch tour, lots of driving with Alec, and track meets.

What I'm Dreading: Nothing!

What I'm Working On: I am finally starting to research some concrete ideas for our two vacations coming up!

What I'm Excited About: The vacation my husband and I have planned for a 4 day trip to New Hampshire and our week long family vacation to Great Smoky Mountains!

What I'm Watching/Reading: On HBO Max: Death on the Nile ( a fun little who done it based on an Agatha Christie novel), Julia (Alec and I have been watching this show about Julia Child and how she broke all sorts of barriers as the first cooking show), The Flight Attendant (I am loving this murder mystery/dark comedy starring Kayley Cuoco) Too Big To Fail (an eye opening movie about the big government bail out of 2008) On Hulu: The Thing About Pam (I still can't believe this was based on a true story!! What a crazy show), Domino Masters (If you like Lego Masters you'll love this!) On the big screen: The Lost City (a very cute rom-com!)

I've read 10 books so far this month and two more I'm part-way through so I'm hoping to have all 12 finished up for my post on Monday with a full recap of them all.

What I'm Listening to: TV shows playing around the house.

What I'm Wearing:  Long sleeves and pants... still.  It's been pretty chilly here with just a warm-ish day here and there.

What I'm Doing This Weekend: Not much; I'm sure I'll most likely be taking Alec to karate and maybe grocery shopping?

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month: May means Mother's Day and my husband and I will celebrate 21 years of marriage!

What Else is New: I pulled out our deck furniture and have gotten to eat out on the deck a time or two while reading... can't wait until it's warm enough for me to do this more often!

  6. I can't believe you have an 18 year old. I sooo want to watch the new season of The Flight Attendant. I just saw a preview yesterday and forgot that it came out again. I love shredded chicken, but can't make it. Ugh. Looks like a good month!

    1. I can't believe it either; it sounds so weird to say out loud too. And I keep thinking of things we need to do now like open his own checking account and all this other "adult" stuff!

  11. Happy birthday to your son!! I just love seeing those photos of when he was so young.
I am going to totally challenge you!! I'd love to see some dresses or skirts next time. Granted it's easier when it's warm outside, but I know you can do it.

    1. You'd be pretty hard pressed to find me in a skirt or dress even when it's warm out! I only own a very small handful of them as I tend to wear dress pants or jumpsuits when dressing up.

  12. It is so strange when your youngest child is closer to 40 than 30! It seems it was only yesterday, and he was four and going to preschool! I like these categories, but I'm way too unorganized to even begin to do this!! We are watching Julia, too. But, right now, we've been catching up on The Great on Hulu. We tend to binge watch shows all at once. I love your daily looks because you always look so different in them!! Thanks for the peek into your life!
